Great customer service. Rooms are clean and nice, do not be fooled by the outside appearance. Will stop here again if needed.

FOR ENTERTAINMENT YOU MUST DRIVE TO SOLVANG FOR GOOD FOOD, SHOPPING, OR ANYTHING TO DO. YOU CAN ALSO GO TO LOMPOC THE URBAN PART TO SHOP OR FOR FOOD, BUT THE KEY WORD IS YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL...THE HOTEL IS IN A QUIET SCENIC AREA WHICH IS NICE, BUT YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL FOR YOUR NEEDS.

decent hotel

The hotel is pretty decent for the price. The exterior looks not so good. The only complaint I have is that they charge a very high tax amount, don't know why.

We left early

See where do I start. I guess from the beginning. First impressions are the lasting ones right... well in this case it was just the start of a downhill slope. When we were pulling up to the hotel it literally looked as if it was closed down, abandoned and possibly condemned. The parking lot only had about 5 cars and 1 of them was the staff. The sign was not even very clearly visible. The windows in front were so dark we couldn't even tell if there were any lights on or anybody around. The grounds were so burnt dry and not manicured what so ever it looked like no body had been there in years. So we decided to at least go in and find out since we had been on the road for 7hrs already. So we go check in, the front desk girl was not outwardly rude, but in general not very pleasant. She gave us the estimate and it was about $20-30 more than I had expected. Prior to me making the reservation I called to inquire about a rollaway and was told that there was no problem with that. So at check in I ask if we can get the rollaway and she tells me they are all out. Who the hell is using "all" the rollaways when there are only 4 other cars in the lot! So frustrated we go to our room. We walk in and it smells musty. The beds are as hard as the dirty worn out carpets on the floor. The description says there are patios, well there are slabs of concrete outside a sliding door with 2 chairs that are right on the again horrible grounds. We also asked for extra towles, we had 3 adults and 2 kids, there were 2 towles in the room, they gave us a whole 2 more. So my step-son wanted to go swimming, they go out there only to find the the pool is closed due to them not having the proper required equipment. The description also mentions the disc golf and volleyball on property. Well the disc golf is there if you can find the baskets in all the over grown trees and the volleyball net is a mess too. The hotel is pet friendly so we brought our 2 dogs. They even had a hard time walking in the "grass" because it is so burnt and prickly. There was barely any real patches of grass for them to find to go to the bathroom. So after we left to go to families house which is the reason why we were there in the first place, we came back to get ready for bed and as you can imagine with 5 people in one room it can get pretty warm. So we were looking all around to find the A/C. There was a nob which we turned but nothing happened. I called the front desk and they said they only have heat and no A/C. What hotels in California don't have A/C in these days! Isn't that a standard! The breakfast they mention is also nothing to even waist your time for. So needless to say when we got up in the morning we checked out a day early, went down the road and found another hotel that was nicer, friendlier, working pool, well maintained hotel for cheaper! Will never stay at White Oaks again and will definatley not recommend to anybody!

Review White oaks

Only stayed overnight , arrived late. did not like the amount they make you sign for $475 on cardf, for possible property damage. . If they want to make you sign for that , then some staff should come when guests sign off and sign a condition departure report. this way they can cut off any charge. No restaurants close by . Good value for what you pay , good quiet location and scenery from the rooms. You can have a nice cup of morning coffee sitting in the back porch. Morning pastries not fresh.Coffee is too strong. Cortewous staff . if going to Solvang, you may find better deals for $ 10-15 more . all these hotels are old and aged .This is even the case with Solvang.

Closest Hotel location to Vandenberg AFB

The hotel was exactly priced for what you get. Unforunately we had a rude awakening with the front desk at check out. When we recieved our check out invoice they had added and additional fee of 10.00 per day for internet reservation that was not on our confirmation we received when reservations where made?

Decent Hotel, Bad Location

My trip was more about the activites I went to the Santa Barbara area to do so the hotel didn't need to be wonderful. If I had been planning on spending a lot of time at the actual room it would not have been the most pleasant stay. It was decent for the price and served it's purpose.
