Great for the price & location

I regularly stay here when I am in town on business. Close proximity to the mall, restaurants, and freeway makes it a good place to stay. The breakfast is ok, but is good on the fly.

Clean, convenient and congenial

The staff were intelligent, friendly and flexible. I asked if I could swim earlier in the mornign and they were flexible in allowing me to do that. The breakfast is well arranged with adequate choices. Overall, excellent value for your travelling dollar!

what a lovely place!

This small hotel has the loveliest roses around the beautifully landscaped grounds - a veritable Garden of Eden in the midst of a busy area right off the 5 freeway - the staff have continued to lovingly care for the many roses planted by the original owners. Unexpected! Rooms are tastefully decorated, and the bathrooms (while small) are simply spotless. Toiletries are steps above the expected (Tarocco, with an exotic dried orange peel scent). Complimentary light breakfast is staffed by efficient and cheerful staff - in fact, every employee I came across was just as gracious and cheerful. Hallways are open at each end; some feature outdoor eating areas. Laguna Hills Mall is within walking distance, as is an In-and-Out Burger my local relatives say is the largest in the area. Other restaurants and stores within walking distance - the hotel has some discounts arranged with these, just ask at the front desk. Looking forward to staying there again!

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The San Clemente Pier has a cute fishing tackle rental/snack shack at the end - our shrimp basket was enough for two, and we watched lots of other satisfied customers with their meals and freshly made cotton candy!

A strong value.

While your stay here may not be terribly memorable, the Laguna Hills Lodge doesn't do anything poorly and some things are quite nice. The courtyard and green spaces are very well maintained and are full of flowering plants and lush greenery; and there's lots of it. The pool area is well maintained as well. The continental breakfast is forgettable but it is free and the fruit was very fresh. A strong value for the area to be sure.

Very nice indeed

The room was just what I needed. Comfortable bed, nice layout. The Wolfgang Puck coffee isn't so good though.

great friends and the laguna art festival

We didn't know what to expect we were kind of hesitant.. BUT we were pleasantly surprised drove up to check-in beautiful flowers all around great pool to the right. Check-in was a breeze and even came out with yummies. Great first impression! We went up to our room walked in and again very pleasantly surprised nice room and spotless. Only negative I can speak of would be the air conditioner could have been a little stronger. I enjoyed our evening there and will look forward to returning!!

Perfect Location

Location, Location, Location...it really doesn't get any better than this if your heading to The O.C. - you are not far from Dana Point, Laguna Beach - Pacific Coast Highway is an easy drive from the Hotel. If shopping is on you list of things to do...Laguna Hills Mall is opposite the Hotel - walking distance. I would rather shop at South Coast Plaza a short distance up the 405 Freeway at Bristol St. offramp. Prior to that you have the Irvine Spectrum, The District in Tustin, not to mention Mission Mall in Mission Viejo a short drive south on the 5 Fwy - Off at Crown Valley Pkwy. If Disneyland is a must, it's just up the northbound 5 freeway. Don't forget Fashion Island in Newport Beach - a short drive as well. The Rooms have been re-done, nicely decorated - very nice and comfortable - no complaints - someone had mentioned the fire station which is opposite the hotel - not a problem at all - at least from my room in the "B" Building. I will stay there on my return trip to The O.C. (Orange County)
