Travelodge Laguna Beach

I spent 2 days diving in Laguna. Each day, I would rinse my gear off and let it drip on a tarp I put on the front step of my room. I let the staff know that I had expensive gear out there and they included it in their security patrols and surveillance. When I put the gear away one night, the security called me up and asked if I forgot to inform them that I had put the gear away. They were on top of it and very professional.

The room had an unbelievable stench. An AC unit above the room flooded the office and the room I was in next to the office. THEN, is when our extra visitor made his entrance...A nice big fat RAT. The hotel staff was very nice and apologetic. They made arrangements for me to move to another facility they had just down the road....which was Great!

I was greeted by name at the front desk and was allowed a generous early check-in. The pool was sparkling clean and extremely warm!

The staff was nice. Hotel was conveniently located. Bed was old and needs replaced. We rolled to the middle all night. Rooms may be getting a face lift as there were paint repair patches on the wall, paint on the carpet etc. Room appeared clean although a silverfish ran across the floor. It is the beach after all and their are lots of bugs. Nice pool and jacuzzi.

i was about the only one at the hotel most of my stay didn't even see much staff. the first few days were good and then they discovered my dog which mind you has been with me the whole time, in and out of the office and laying in the sun in front of my room, now the eleventh hour and they tell me no pets, doesn't state that on web site, and they are asking me to leave. Wow no that's service for you, not even a smile. So down to the wire and with the holidays approaching i must find another room. so far warning to those with animals, DO NOT stay here. even if you don't have pets bring lots of socks so your feet don't clean the filthy carpets, i brought my own carpet cleaner.

Property is in a great location, you can walk to Albertsons to buy groceries. There is a 'baby' frig and micro in the room. Walk across the street to the Montage Resort, which has a great walking path and access to the beach. The bad news is that the shower in our room was horrible, there was no water pressure, the shower was replaced, then you had to take a shower with the door open, water was everywhere!

Reasonable for the price, but needs some work. We were near the stairs and it got a little noisy at times. Our shower drain was backed up. It was clean and in a good location across from the Montage and great beach area.
