In the heart of Laguna Beach, looking out on an endless expanse of shimmering, blue-green ocean, stands a stately homage to a bygone era of simple elegance and luxury, La Casa del Camino. Built in 1929 as a seaside retreat for Hollywood movie stars and celebrities, this legendary Mediterranean Revival-style hotel offered its guests an enchanting escape from the constant demands of daily life.

Today, more than 80 years later, it still does. Beautifully restored to its original grandeur, La Casa del Camino combines classic "old-world" charm with the latest modern amenities, from antique furnishings and vintage oil paintings to Internet access and contemporary four-star dining at Kya Bistro.

Here, in this timeless setting, exquisite decor, impeccable service, and inviting ambience inspire, as they always have, memories that will last forever...

We welcome pets for a charge of $35 a day.

La Casa del Camino Rooms

Deluxe Queen Room w/Partial Ocean View
These rooms are often referred to as "writing rooms" by some of the local writers who come to stay looking for inspiration or trying to break out of their writer's block. Each room comes with antiques that double as writing desks, place by the window that offers a partial ocean view. Spectacular Amber colored sky signals the sunset. Open the window and with a little imagination, watch the French Riviera unfold before your eyes. One queen bed.
Run of House
There is nothing "Standard" about these cozy sized quaint guestrooms. Furnished with European style antiques. Room Includes One queen bed.
Standard Queen Room w/Non-View or Courtyard View
There is nothing "Standard" about these cozy sized quaint guestrooms. Furnished with European style antiques, some rooms offering the view of our enchanting courtyard with echoing sound of trickling water. One queen bed.

Such a steal!!

We paid next to nothing for a room here, after hunting down the best deal and using online coupons. Good stuff- 15 yards from the water, rooftop view of the ocean and town, fridge included in room (was not in the room upon arrival but we called down and they brought one up!) and big shower, town hotspot Kya downstairs, rooftop lounge upstairs, walking distance from shops and dining/takeout/fastfood, hotel offers chairs and umbrella set up for you down at the beach, AMAZING breakfast... fresh eggs, pancakes, sausage, juice bar, coffee, etc- different each day. Not so good stuff- Ittyyyy bitty room.. my husband is 6'3 and could reach his arms from one side of the room to the other and touch both walls, queen size uncomfy bed, no counter space in room, no ice machine on premises so you have to call down for ice to be brought up (not a fan of tipping for things that ought to be free).

Use a Groupon or Restaurant.com deal to pay for as many meals as you can. Again, you won't have to buy breakfast but the other two add up!

Nice stay in Laguna!

Location was perfect. Quick and easy beach access. Decent room features, despite being very small. Great restaurants (in the hotel and next door), complimentary breakfast, and a rooftop (view) bar. We think this place is a find...to stay in S. Laguna on a budget.

K'ya was as advertised. Make a reservation for inside or just show up for the streetside mini-patio. The food was superb. Very cool place and crowd.

Charming hotel not so charming room

The hotel is charming with a great location and food but the rooms are very small, bare bones, and the walls really are paper thin. Our room also had a musty odor. The suites looked great and may have been better if we stayed in one.

Cute and Cozy!

It was a very cute and cozy place! Rooms are small, but not a big deal. The walls are very thin so you will hear what's going on outside and in the halls. The restaurant downstairs (Kya) was delicious!

Great location, needs details

This was to be a get-away place for a few days while we were visiting family. What EVERYONE needs to know is that this is a party hot spot for the locals and is loud well into the evening. It is on the coast and the roof top deck was fabulous for breakfast. As a hotel guest you get NO special privaleges for sunset. After 2 nights in a closet of a room we wer graciously moved, last two nights were far more enjoyable. Staff was fantastic, continental breakfast had hot items and was a nice touch. While I have checked "would no recommend to a friend" if you can handle the noise and like to party, this would be for you. With attention to detail and some control over the noise this could be a GREAT destination

La Casa Del Tiny

Wow this was like staying in a dorm room. Except a dorm room with a sink and vanity inside. The room was extremely small, it was funny actually we laughed and took pictures. Laguna Beach is beautiful and putting up with a jail-cell sized room was worth it.Front desk girl was a little uppity, ok a lot uppity and could care less if we stayed there or on the street. Room was dodgy. Would not go back.

Historic but noisy

Nice hotel, but too noisy. We could hear the lobby music late into the night and early morning deliveries woke us up. The hotel is very nice, with a good breakfast in the restaurant and a wonderful rooftop bar. It's in easy walking distance to other bars and restaurants.
