Good place for families
I came here with my husband and 3 yr old son. It was very clean and convenient. The staff was awesome offering milk for my boy in the morning. This is a great family run business. Upon checking in it was made clear that if I needed anything I should just call. I did not find the place noisy, although it is on a busy street which I feel provided easy access to the 8. I will not stay anywhere else! If your looking for convenience that's slightly off the beaten path, come here!

Clean, confortable room, good value
We were in the San Diego area for a family event in Spring Valley which has no hotels. This was a great location, near freeways, and great value for the price. The room was recently renovated, clean, and the hotel manager was very nice and helpful. He even printed a map for me and called me the next morning to tell me it was ready. Not the greatest surrounding area, but Weinerschnitzel was right across the street (couldn't hear it).

Super 8 is great
We stayed at the Super 8 while we went to the Zoo and Wild Animal Park. It was a short distance to the zoo and it worked out great. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only thing that could have improved was the water temperature for the shower. It was luke warm, but no biggie. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Neat place, great host
I came to speak at a local meeting and only spent one night there. The room was well designed, the bed was comfortable and the man behind the desk was very helpful I would have appreciated a box of tissues and a trash container near the desk Best stay in a low budget hotel I have ever had.

Wong's Golden Palace is just a few blocks north on University. The Crispy Beef was delicious and the whole establishment ought to be listed as a cultural treasure.

Excellent Stay!
This Super 8 was so friendly I could not believe it. The location was perfect for me; I was in town for a martial arts seminar and it was right up the street from where the seminar was taking place. There was an interesting Mediterranean restaurant about a block away, along with 2 Mexican restaurants and a Pizza delivery that brought us the biggest pizza I had ever seen. The family that owned it was so helpful, and their son knew where everything was and was more than happy to tell you the good spots to eat and drink. One of the front desk employees even drove me to a banquet I had to attend to save me from taking a cab. Never had a better experience at any hotel, and I will gladly stay here again.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you take a left out of the hotel parking lot, then take the first left and go up to El Cajon, there's an awesome little dive bar on the block called The Boulevard. We watched the UFC fight there and it was a blast.
