Not bad, but not good either.
Normal level of hotel clean. Decent price. Not as many common amenities, such as shampoo, blow drier, etc., but if you pack wisely, it doesn't matter. The beds were the biggest issue, the sheets were clean, but the mattress was horrible. Old, creaky, sinking areas in the mattress led to a not so good night's sleep. Other than the mattress, it's not a spectacularly awesome place, but it was also not remarkably bad.

This was the worst Motel that we have every stayed at, and if it wasn't that it was a holiday week end and all nearby motels were booked, we would of moved. NO amenities!! Not even a box of Kleenex!! They advertise wi-fi, but didn't say it was only in a FEW rooms until after we were settled in!!

Satisfies Basic Needs
The Motel 6 La Mesa was kept very clean. However, there were no tissue boxes or shampoo and they did not even replace our toilet paper supply after the first night. This was inconvenient because we were only given two rolls to begin with! I guess we got what we paid for, but we were still amazed at the lack of basic things that we have come to expect from even the shabbiest motels we have stayed at. The location was very good and was right off of the highway. However, there were thin walls and this caused discomfort when we were trying to sleep.
