The Mediterranean-style boutique hotel offers luxurious accommodations and amenities and enjoys walking distance to La Jolla village for some of the best shopping in Southern California. Three on-site restaurants, including the Art Deco Sky Room, provide guests with ample dining options.Highlights
- Historic buildings hearken back to another era

Features
The La Valencia Hotel has received AAA's four diamond award and was selected to the 2010 Best in the World Top 100 list by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Wonderful Hotel, the best in San Diego
La Valencia, ambiance is by far better that any other hotel I have stayed at. The customer service was excellent. Only suggestion, the carpet really should have been cleaned, too many stains for the quality of a Villa room. rg

Great weekend stay in a Great town
Could not have asked for more from the valet to the front desk to the restaurant staff. Rooms are a bit old as with all hotels this age and a bit small. The location is ideal for all excursions in and around San Diego. Great happy hour on the deck overlooking the Pacific. Valet will add 29.00 to your daily charges. If you are looking for an upscale hotel in the center of La Jolla i would highly recomend

Fabulous Old Historic Hotel
Fabulous old hotel with great amenities. Currently undergoing major renovations so elevator is not working which results in guests having to take steps up or down to reach their room. We only had to walk down one flight to reach our room so it was only an inconvenience for us, but could be a major deterent for others. Hotel staff is great, and the location is perfect with beautiful ocean views! Valet parking at $29 per night is too expensive, but we were able to find street parking for free each night that we were there. Sunday brunch is well worth the $36/pp price.

Short walk from hotel
At $29 per night for valet parking, park for free on the street, just watch the signs to make sure you are parking legally so you don't get a ticket.

Beautiful wedding!
La Jolla is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Since our room was listed as a "partial ocean view" I expected a sliver view crammed between two sky scrapers but was I wrong. The view was magnificent! The hotel employees were all polite, friendly and helpful... and not at all pretentious. The only slight inconvenience was the ventelation / exhaust fan in our bathroom was not working, which is understandable since the hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay. Despite the construction, our stay was outstanding!

TWO STAR HOTEL WITH ONE STAR MANAGEMENT.
Arrived at hotel to find their elevator is not working and won't be working until later this year. Had to climb several flights of stairs to get to room which was well worn and needed rehab. I understand they are rehabing the hotel but it would have been nice to find this out before reserving room. We checked out two days early and would never ever stay at this hotel again because of the way management handled an incident in the bar dining area. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and never had such poor treatment.

Beautiful location
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the LaValencia last week in October. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Old world charm with some modern amenities, but retains many features of original design. Received an upgrade on checking in - valet was very accommodating, although at $ 29 per day for parking, off-site self-parking is preferable. Our room was in the west wing, large, king, with marble bathroom. Very comfortable, convenient, well-appointed. Pool is just outstanding - gorgeous setting and unparalled view of the ocean. Heated. Hotel food was okay, not too expensively priced. The Sky Room was closed for renovation - a disappointment since the view is supposed to be spectacular. Great location for shopping, restaurants, and quick access to the park and beach below. Only caution:: lots of steps, LOTS OF STEPS. Was not a problem for us, but could be for others. Entertainment on the outside patio was enjoyable; not too loud or obtrusive in rooms. There were several social and business events going on at the hotel, but did not cause any inconvenience for us. Whaling Bar has just been re-opened after renovation. Lively crowd most nights. A terrific experience. Perfect location.
