Comfortable in La Jolla
Wonderful site a block from the beach. Room was tight but comfortable with a side view of the water. No elevator so be prepared to walk up to the second floor where half the rooms are. The deck on the third floor is nicely situated but the "continental" breakfast offerings are uninspired. Milk for cereal came in a glass filled to the brim and impossible to pour without spilling. Rooms on the street side will have to put up with noise from restaurants/bars across the street until about 10pm.

Not worth it
Definitely not worth the price. The room I stayed in was very small and not very comfortable. If you have a car, the parking situation is a nightmare, but you could get lucky and find a spot nearby. The hotel does have a lot you can park at, but it's 2 blocks down the road and you have to pay a fee. They have a small store next to the lobby, so you can get snacks, but it is pricey. The only cool thing was that it was close to a veriety of shops and bars, as well as La Jolla Cove.

A List Experience
This hotel was the perfect fit for our weekend plans. The room was fresh, clean, comfortable and the staff was very cheerful and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
My experience at this hotel was beyond bad. My plane was late and got in at 2am. When I arrived at the hotel, it was closed-there was an emergency number on the door, and it gave an answering machine that nobody answered. The hotel number said you could leave a message, but you couldn't. I ended up sleeping in my car. The next morning I called the hotel, and they refused to refund the room charge. They were quite rude about it. I travel extensively and have never seen a hotel with a front desk that closes without a back up number. I would not stay here under any circumstances.

Awesome
We have stayed at this hotel previously so we knew what to expect from this hotel. No microwave but no problem, there are many places to eat close at hand. We had a room that faced the street and we could see the ocean from the balcony. We were within walking distance from the beach/park. We attended a wedding. The weather was perfect. STAFF was exceptional. Don't except to find a parking space close to your room and be prepaed to walk up and down inclines.

Great location and comfy bed!
I needed a place to stay in La jolla because a loved one was in a hospital close by- the bed was comfy and the location was awesome.I had a much needed walk on the beach with some seal and dolphin watching. The inn is old and walls are thin but it fit the bill. Coffee and breakfast @ the Living Room was yummy.

The location is very nice and thats about it.... Dont plan on enjoying yourself in the room. But it will do if you need a cheap place in a good location to sleep. I would prob spend the extra $20 and stay at a better place next time which has more updated rooms.
