The hotel itself was so-so. Nothing about the hotel itself, despite renovations, stood out in terms of rooms, amenities, etc. So in a lot of ways it was overpriced in that regards. HOWEVER! When it comes to location, it's perfect. You're literally
30 seconds walking distance away from La Jolla Cove where you have the most gorgeous view imaginable. Also, if you go up to the top of the hotel's patio, it gives you a breathtaking view (like a total picture). So essentially I was able to justify the price of the hotel for the location.
-Close to center of city
-Good home like feel
-Wifi didn't work the whole time, they never got anyone to fix it for almost 24 hours. I needed it for work. Didn't make any amends.
-Energy fee? The leaky toilet that made a loud
refill noise every 20 min is what they're losing energy on
-$10 for a razor... aren't those usually complimentary?. They charge crazy amounts for little extras like that.
-Parking is hard, they charge $10 a day 2 blocks away. There's a place across the street for the same price.
-The have an industrial soap dispenser in the shower...that has no soap. haha. Why even have it?
Overall not bad! I would go again for the price.
This cute euopean inn is a great deal that is in the center of the la jolla cove area. Walkable distance from everything, free street parking available, and a beautiful sun deck with views of the ocean. Only complaint is an "old" smell that was
present. But rooms are clean, and bathrooms newly remodeled.
The rooms are a little dated, but clean. I stay two days and then back for another two days. The rooms I stayed at 6 and 7 are very close to the road and the equipment is very dated and the second time i stayed the air did not work the first night
the air was not controllable.
I hear the best western is a better value and accommodations. If there is nothing else, it will do, but if you have a choice , pick another place.
Excellent experience. Had read very critical reviews before going, but was pleasantly surprised. The room was small but really comfortable and nicely appointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Couldn't get the air conditioner to work. Love
the view of the ocean from the rooftop sundeck & BBQ area, a pleasant surprise!
I told them i wold be late checking in after their midnight policy and they told me don't worry, someone will be there. i got there and the place was closed, i had to sleep in my car and that was horrible so i went to a Best Western and spent $102
for the night. When i went back the next day they said my room was not ready and they then told me they gave my room to someone else. Then they put me in a room and there was black mold in it, i told then to clean it 3 days in a row and i finally did it myself after getting severe headaches.I also had called them over a week before and told them i made a mistake and was flying home a day earlier and i needed to change my reservation. They told me the manager/owner had to do that and i waited the entire week and he never showed or called me back. This place is bad, if it was located anywhere else it would be a $39.95 motel.
This hotel is as described by many viewers, small but sufficient. The room is extremely small but the location is perfect. It's 2 seconds from the beach and right on the main strip in la jolla. If you aren't planning to spend time at the hotel
then this place is perfect! If you are planning to stay in then choose somewhere else. The amenities are scarce. There is no breakfast offered, they leave a basket of cookies and candies for purchase in your room however half of the things in our basket were expired. Our air conditioner barely blew any air even on the highest setting. So over all the hotel was ok.
