Very clean

Room was extremely clean, amenities were basic. The property seems to cater to the retired community. Comfortable and friendly staff. Excellent value for the price. I would stay here again.

A LITTLE RETRO, NICE STAFF!

Almost every night there is music and dancing in the lobby. A lively atmosphere is nice to have. The hotel is older but the throwback vibe is pretty cool. The pool area looks nice. The hotel is clean and pretty comfortable. The fitness room is big but the equipment isn't a priority it seems. (As is the case at many hotels.) No hot food for cont. breakfast other than oatmeal, bagels, toast, and waffles. The waffles are the frozen type.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Indian Wells is between Palm Desert and La Quinta. Most dining requires a 5-10 minute drive. Nothing wrong with hotel dining but if you want something different it's a short drive, not a walk for most people.

Great stay!

Overall, my family and I loved this hotel. I had no idea Desi and Lucy Arnaz owned it back in the 50's. It is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are perfect: refrigerator, big closet, strong shower head, comfortable beds and pillows. Sliding door that conveniently leads from room to car. When we checked in, we also got free breakfast vouchers for my family. Without the vouchers, breakfast is $9.95 for adults, and $6.95 for children. On certain evenings, there's a band that plays in the lounge, 'til 9pm. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because in the evenings there's only one employee in the facility, the front desk clerk, so if you need room service, you're outta luck. Also, some of the staff could be a bit friendlier, and the pool is great, but was a bit dirty, a couple of times. However, I will definitely stay here again in the future. The price is a steal, and the stay was wonderful.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There are a few shopping centers within a few miles, which contain Ralph's, in case you're in need of groceries. There are also a few restaurants near by, and fast food locations.

fine place, no surprises

I stayed at this hotel for a conference at the Renaissance Esmeralda across highway 111. The rooms at the Esmeralda were very expensive, so I stayed at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel. For the money, the Indian Wells Resort Hotel was a good deal. The room was clean, the breakfast was fine. No problems. The front-desk staffed who checked me in seemed a little rough, but they were basically OK. Check-out was similarly underwhelming. Nothing horrible, just not the respectful interactions you get in most nice hotels. I didnt' use the pool or hot tub, but they looked fine. On the whole, this hotel seemed like a good deal if you are looking for a less expensive option in Indian Wells.

Old CA Feeling

I had to add a night to a conference and couldn't get into the same hotel. This was close by and fit my manager's budget for me. It was clean and neat. Definitely old school with that old Hollywood atmosphere. Felt nastalgic and kind of fun with the old decor and pictures of Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, etc. I couldn't help but think of the stars that had roamed the halls years ago and how it might have felt. The staircase, fountain and pool are nice. Again... in that old CA way. Fun stay. Nothing fancy.

Just what I was looking for

There is a nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was included and was quick which I appreciated as I was there on business. The lobby bar was a bit over-priced, I found better value at the bar across the street. I would stay there again however.

a fun place

Did not know what to expect from older hotel, but it has been nicely updated, large room, lovely pool and surroundings in the back, but mattress hopefully is on immediate replacement list. Big band music/show was totally unexpected and delightful. Enjoyed the numerous pictures of yesteryear. Must have been quite a place in the 50's and 60's.
