Wow, great location, incredible service!
WOW....this hotel is a block from the Chinese Theater and the star walk!! The service was so personal and incredible. Before I got there, I told them I'm on WeightWatchers, and I called the hotel and spoke with a very nice lady. I asked what their breakfast included. She said that she'd get me some special items before I arrived if I gave her a list!! The staff couldn't do enough to help out. They made the experience incredible. I've never had such a nice staff at a hotel anywhere.

Great place to stay
Great location to central Hollywood. Size of rooms made family travel worth the trip. Staff is more than helpful and the extra amenities of breakfast and snacks saved a ton of money. While the rooms may lack the most modern accruements, they are more than worth the money. We traveled with 10 month old twins and the staff met all our needs.

magically fun
We visited Manns Chinese Theater and Hollywood walk of fame which was within walking distance. The main reason for staying here was to go to the Magic Castle. Great place to stay if you want to explore Hollywood and Magic Castle. Extremely friendly staff. Old Hotel but clean and welcoming. Loved the free breakfast, sodas and munchies, sparkling cider when we walked in the door and other little extras.

Magic Staff
We went to Magic Castle after reading the reviews. The reviews were mostly right. The hotel is in a great location one block from Hollywood Blvd. The staff at The Magic Castle are what makes the hotel truly magical. They went out of their way in every attempt to please us. One problem we had was we asked for a feather free room and upon arrival, we had a down comforter and 3 feather pillows. The staff did all they could to correct this. The hotel itself is cute California boutique as advertised and above average but the room we had (114) was just ok at best. It was stuck in a corner with a view of a side street, small, but adequate for a couple. Be mindful, there are no elevators.

Make sure to hit up the 25 Degrees Burger Bar (open 24 hours) at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It is the best value in Los Angeles. The Number One is amazing and you will not believe the amount of fries or onion rings that go with it. By the way, get the onion rings. One of the best burgers and absolutely the best onion rings I have ever had. Also, make sure to go to In and Out Burger.

Great Customer Service
The hotel outside is underwhelming but when you walk in it's quite nice. The offered us lovely lemonade while we checked and were really accommodating and kind during check-in. They even found a vegan restaurant that delivered late night, printed the menu and ordered for us. After a long drive from the airport this was great. The rooms needed renovating but were spacious however, the walls were thin. The breakfast was delightful and upon check-out they once again were lovely and offered us snacks for the road.

New Years Eve
I would probably give them 3 and half stars but there's no option for that. We stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel for New Years Eve, mainly because we were going next door to see some real magic! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the free snacks and soda is always a bonus. However, sound travels pretty easily and if someone is standing near your door talking, you'll be sure to hear their conversation as if they're in the room with you (magic?). Rooms are comfy and they even provided us with some free sparkling wine and chocolates- a nice touch. A few negatives- shower doors were a bit off (wouldn't close entirely because they didnt line up right)and the air conditioner is a box unit on the side and the heater is a separate freestanding plug-in heater,

A special place to stay
I needed a hotel in the Hollywood area that was close to Universal Studios as our stay in LA was brief and we didn't want to waste time driving miles. After narrowing my options down to half a dozen possible hotels, based on location, I set about visiting each one's official website & also read a few reviews, from other travelers, for each. The first thing that appealed about the Magic Castle was it's website - nothing flashy or high tech just a simple, easy to navigate site with enough information about the practical things that matter when you're traveling plus a few well chosen photos and I found that a refreshing change. Add to that the fact that it was the only hotel that had 90-95% positive reviews and it soon became clear that the right choice was The Magic Castle. So I went ahead and booked our 2 nights with my fingers crossed that it would live up to my expectations. Well it certainly did that and more besides and it was just a shame we couldn't stay longer! .... I've inserted this paragraph having just finished my review as I felt it was only fair to warn you before you continue reading that this has turned out to be a somewhat lengthy review . It is because I just wanted to say all I felt about my experience of this hotel & I seem to have rambled on more than I planned - so my apologies for the epic length of my review and also for my rather long-winded way of saying things at times - just hope someone, somewhere finds some of this helpful? .......... I'm sure most of us have had the bad experience of booking a hotel/restaurant based on what somewhere claims to be & on what we've read on websites only to be bitterly disappointed on arrival to discover that it bares little, if any, resemblance to what was promised. It's a chance we all have to take at times and how wonderful it is when your choice turns out to be spot on and you find all you expected and if you're lucky more! So it was with trepidation that we pulled up outside the Magic Castle and walked up the stairs into the small but bright lobby - had we got it right or were we in line for a big disappointment? At the front desk we were greeted immediately with a warm and welcoming smile and very efficient service. It was around 8pm and we probably looked shattered having been driving since 9am and the speedy & smooth check-in process was definitely appreciated. Our large number of bags were quickly unloaded from the car and taken to our 1 bedroomed suite while we completed the required paperwork and then parked the car in the car park underneath the hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and thoughtful and we were soon being shown to our suite and once there we were quickly shown all the things we might need to know - how the safe worked/heating/air con/sofa-bed etc.. We had one or two requests shortly after check-in all of which were attended to swiftly and all with a smile. This hotel really is an absolute gem - it is hard to explain in words what it is really like but trust me it has something special about it. It is clean, comfy, spacious and has everything you could need on offer, the central courtyard heated pool is lovely and open 24/7 and all topped off with a complimentary continental breakfast each morning available in the front lobby for you to either take back to your room or perhaps sit by the pool for an outdoor breakfast. It doesn't stop there - we were amazed to be given an A4 sheet with a huge list of DVD's available for guests to watch, free of charge plus a menu of 'complimentary' items available 24/7 from the front desk - this menu consists of 8/10 different soft drinks, 8/10 savory snack options and 8/10 chocolate/sweet options. In fact the only item not offered complimentary is water BUT there was a litre bottle in the room should we wish to have it for a $4 charge. Oh yes the suite had a full kitchen plus tea/coffee making facilities with plenty of supplies and the front lobby had coffee on offer all d...
