Dunes Inn - Sunset

The hotel was well located and the small room was comfortable enough. Nothing special.

Nice location. Room was just remodeled, and very clean.

THE FOLKS WERE FRIENDLY AND ALOT OF FUN,,,THE DREAM DINER WAS A GREAT MEAL AND EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL,,HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT,,,CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN --

Worth the price. tho its not a five star, its still worth it..

This place has nice staff and you'll find a big parking for your car. The rooms are typical hollywood motel style, so you'll have everything you need, a clean bad and bathroom, a somewhat old school tv (but who comes for watching tv?) and all of that pretty close to everything in hollywood. Don't expect anything special - but if you just want to sleep and shower and be in a great central location to get to know Hollywood, you'll find a good and budget room.

When my family and I stepped into the hotel it was kinda small for a two queen bedroom. We were expecting at least a flat screen TV instead it was an old fashioned TV with horrible picture and hardly any chanels. No big deal, we wanted to go sightseeing anyways than sitting in the room. After a long day we come back and see that there is no iron or ironing board so we ask the man in the office downstairs. My Fiance comes back with a tiny ironing board and iron. Really? Not only that but the place had no continental breakfast and for the price we paid it should have been half the price. The only good thing was the location and the "Hollywood" sign behind the hotel. Also, the place was not comfortable it seemed like one of those hotels you see in the scary movies.

This is like a motel, not a hotel, room had nasty smell n they hand h remote control for tv at time of check in. It's totally opposite of their advertisement.Staff don't speak English, so really hard to communicat, although they were nice.

I picked this place bcuz of the proximity to the Hollywood Palladium. 3 block walk. My rm was clean, the guys in the office were helpful when I needed anything. Definetly will stay again. Anybody who complains about this place prbly had an attitide prblm. if u want 4stars pay the $3-$400. I paid $89 total.

My friends and I were in LA for New Years Eve to see a concert. From the pictures on [@], The Dunes Inn Sunset looked like a nice hotel that had a location close to our concert venue. While we were satisfied with the location, the hotel itself was less than satisfactory. The pictures that we viewed portrayed the Dunes Inn Sunset as up to date and clean. The carpeting in the hotel looked like it was from the 1970's and had stains all over it - one stain being drops of blood outside of the bathroom. We wanted to be switched to another room, but the hotel was at capacity, so we had to put a towel over the blood stains. The bathroom was also outdated, and the lever to drain water in the bathtub was broken, so taking a shower was anything but pleasant. I had to turn the shower off two times while bathing so that the water wouldn't overflow onto the bathroom floor. I must say that the sheets were clean, as was the bathroom. Other than that, I would not recommend the Dunes Inn Sunset.

Great hotel and location for those on a budget.2 blocks from the Metro which takes you to Hollywood highlands where the kodak theatre and Hollywood walk of fame is. Service is excellent, the peole that work there are really nice and helpful!! A+ service! Can be a bit noisy with sirens during the night but if you're not too bothered and just want a cheap place to stay Them this is the place to go!!
