Horrible!
The first room we were in had hair and make-up all over the sink. The second room seemed ok until they allowed the other guests on the floor to blast their music and yell and fight. We called the front desk three times and all they did was call them on the phone. Next morning when we were leaving, there was a huge "[*]" etched on the door next to ours and what looked like blood. Look up "[*] hotel" in the dictionary and you will find a picture of this property. Also, we called for extra towels at 730 am. Never got them when we checked out at 9am even after calling two more times. Horrendous service and hotel from hell. We were literally scared that that was going to be our last night... and both of us are in the military!

Good Hotel, Sketchy Location
The hotel itself was very clean and nice. It sits beside/above a casino with homeless people begging in front of it. The incompetent receptionist when I checked in told me I could walk to Full Circle Brewery. Turned out it was a 2 mile walk through the worst part of town after dark. Run down buildings, people squatting in them, what looked like crack dens. Thanks for the advice. The Brewery was great though - just cab it. The staff is probably not all bad; I dealt with only one person.

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Check out Full Circle Brewery. Good beer, laid back, live music, and the co-owner/bartender [...] is the man. Just cab it or drive - very shady part of town.

Very nice
The room was comfortable and pleasant, the food in the restaurant was good, and the staff were friendly. It's definitely an oasis in that part of town.

SoSo... exactly bad...
first of all, breackfast is not good and the staff is rude. Parking isn't free! Per a day - $5. The room is too noisy, especially in the morning.

One of the Best!!!
Superior staff - extremely helpful - The hotel was totally booked for the weekend I was there, but service continued at the top. The best food I have had in a long time especially the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp (sauce and vegetables were exquisite). The food served at the ballroom and the Sky Room was much better than traditional hotel food. Bartenders were excellent as well as the drink price - I have been royally ripped off at some hotels for a rum & coke, but $6.00 was more than acceptable at the Holiday Inn. The rooms were so quiet (even with a full hotel). Towels were over-sized, soft and very plush. Beds were the tops - choice of firm and softer pillows. This was the perfect hotel for me and I will surely be back!!

Comfy Beds
I was uneasy because the window looked out over the roof and air conditioning units. Management and Staff were very professional and accomodating paying airport taxis because a shuttle had been advertised but was not operating. Staff was friendly and efficient. Good hotel to stay at except for no going for a walk in that part of town. High priced, however comparable to others in that location.

Weary traveler...
Some like it hot, and others not!
The rooms are newly decorated with comfortable mattresses and bed linens, however the outside noise level is very loud from large underground parking garage vent fans just across the street from this hotel. Also, the rooms are too cold and there is no way to regulate the thermostat, a maintenance person had to use a ladder and manually turn the unit off for individual rooms.

A Wonderful Surprise
I used to live in Fresno and I return now and then on business. I actually thought I was booking the Convention Center Hotel, which used to be the Holiday Inn, so was extremely surprised when it turned out to be the hotel a few blocks away that used to be another brand! Having been in that hotel in years gone by for meetings, I was amazed at its transformation. Everything was clean, remodeled and redecorated with the most soothing and fresh colors. Being an older hotel, the rooms are much more spacious than the newly built hotels of today. And it is one of the few places where you can really have a nice view with a courtyard and fountain. Since I do consulting work for the school district downtown, it is within a two-minute walk. I was only there for one night so I did not have time to sample the restaurant, room service or the fitness center. I would have liked a microwave in the room with the small refrigerator but that is not a big issue. Of course you have to pay to park below in the garage, but that is typical of hotels in large city downtown areas. A great value and a wonderful surprise. I highly recommend it for the Fresno business traveler!

For the business traveler, it is always great to find a restaurant in the hotel as well as room service. This hotel has a cafe, small sports bar and a roof top bar that serves appetizer fare. The menus looked perfect for a traveler. In addition, there is a Casino right next door that has a "Casino-type" restaurant.
