Basic comfort

This was just a stop over for us as we were traveling up to Oregon. It was a convenient place to rest, and we just needed to sleep. Got in pretty late, but the front desk person came right away when we rang the bell. I had accidentally booked a smoking room (even though I wrote in non-smoking in the preferences). The man was very nice and switched us to a non-smoking room without fuss. It was a bare bones room, but we somehow got upgraded to a room with a kitchen (not that we used it). The water was hot and the shower strong so we basically had what we needed for the night. Some of the lights didn't work, but we were too tired to care. For the price (which was a little spendy for the type of place), it was an ok stay. I have to admit that I was very impressed with the smooth way the front desk person handled my booking error. I would give a 2 stars for the actual room (which is what I expected), and a 4 star for his service.

appropriate for the price

The room was very clean and appropriate for the price we paid, and compared to the price of other rooms in this city. The heated, small indoor pool was a plus. The pool, water, and enclosure appeared to be very clean. There was a traffic signal noise that was irritating, and I was disappointed they diluted the orange juice so obviously.

Ok for sleeping overnight

Very clean, but the continental breakfast offer was not standard. No microwave to heat up breakfast muffins offer, no fruit or cereal, milk or juice.

Econo Lodge Eureka

I was charged twice for my room. I booked room on line with Orbitz and my VISA card was charged at that time, when I arrived to hotel and give the receptionalist my visa card they told me that on line ORBITZ reservation is on Master card so I had to pay again with Visa card. I called customer service and reported my complains and customer service told me that Hotel has made mistake and that they will call the hotel and that they will reimbursed me but I still did not get my remburesement on my visa card . Please let me know what is the problem.

Questionable Surroundings

Can't beat the price, but there were some compromises. There were people in the parking lot all night and it seemed there might have been some drug activity there. Also, the bathroom smelled of urine and mold. It was disgusting.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Many GREAT places to enjoy in the area. Beautiful bluffs overlooking the sea, majestic redwoods, and quaint little towns and farmhouses all over the place. Be sure to check out Ferndale!
