Americas Best Value Inn

This hotel was cheap and offered muffins, coffee and juices for breakfast. Room was big, Had refridge and microwave and cable TV. The managers were nice, but they lived there. While we stayed there, we met a woman who was living there for 6 months with her husband and family while they sold oranges in roadside stands (they were from Arkansas and were harvesting and selling oranges in CA and needed a place to stay). Also it seemed teenagers lived there and came and went. It was 2 blocks from Old Town Eureka, but also 2 blocks from the homeless food kitchen. Not real clean, old, old, old linens and towels, caulking everywhere in the bathroom, and chipped furniture. We always locked the door while we were there, even during the day. Not worth the savings - stay at a more recognized name brand hotel.

my 2-night experience at this hotel is good. staff is very friendly. room is clean. location is also good. the only con is the traffic noise outside, and room itself is not quite sound proof (we can hear upstairs walking). but for the price, we do not expect it to be perfect.

The woman at the desk was nice... the room reeked of Clorox. The Bed was comfortable but we did not sleep well because the sheets did not fit well and the weird pad under them was dirty looking and did not fit the bed. I was afraid if I moved to much the sheet would come off. The towels were rough and dirty looking. The bath tub was really deep (nice) and had jets that had no way to turn them on? There was a little fridge on the floor w/ a microwave on top of it......

I have used America's Best before and this hotel is very outdated compared to all others I have seen. It may have to do w/the area being a small town and rural area. It was nice to have complementary juice and muffins. Towels were a little thin but they provided more when requested. The mattress was a little too firm. A ceiling fan would have been nice since there was no ventilaton w/o air conditioning. It did not really get hot due to climate. Staff were helpful when I had questions about the area or needed directions. Overall, I was satisfied w/my stay.

The room smelled so strong of chlorine that we had to leave the door and window open for a long time just to be in the room. The tub was so small a regular size person could not bath in it. It had jets but the drain plug would not keep the water in and had to keep refilling it. The beds had two sagging imprints in the bed before we ever tried it out. I did sleep well after the room aired out somewhat.

It was the best of the cheapest places to say in Eureka.

Exactly what you expect from an ABVI - good value and clean

Good place to stay for your trip to Redwood National Park.

We went to Northern Ca to pick my daughter up from Humboldt State at the end of the school year. Because of graduation and all the other kids getting picked up, there were very few hotels to choose from. Most of the hotels had no vacancy. The hotels with rooms still available knew they had a captive audience, so I think they all jacked the prices up. This hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. There were fresh towels each morning, but they weren't very good towels. There was a small fridge and microwave in the room, so that was good. Overall, it was really worth only half of what we paid. But again, as everything else was booked, we had no choice. Had it been priced right, I would have given it a higher rating.

The Owners were very friendly. The location is Great to get to all of old Town Eureka. The rooms were quiet and the lot was well lit. It is an older motel but clean and user friendly, small but serviceable.
