I come to Escondido about once a month, sometimes twice and as far as price goes, this is a fairly good hotel for the price. There were a few pincher bugs in the shower...easily sent down the drain, a mini fridge would have been nice. A bottom floor room at this hotel is better... everything on top seems to have thinner walls.

Rodeway Inn in Escondido.
Was a good stay. The room was clean, decent sized and the bathroom was very spacious with a nice double sit down shower, no tub though. The only real drawback is that it is located on the corner of a busy intersection and the traffic noise is pretty noisy. Bed was quite hard, but some people like that!Rates are reasonable.

Money's worth
We were only staying the night and the Rodeway Inn was very convenient to get off the freeway and very near relatives home we were going to visit. The front desk person was very helpful with directions. The room was clean and adequate for our needs and the price was minimal. It was a older motel and we did not expect it to be new and modern. We did use the small refigerator.

My review of Rodeway Inn Escondido
Small and somewhat aged motel. Check in was quick and friendly. We were on the first floor and were aware that there were kids upstairs, but it wasn't too noisy. No pool or dining. Lots of budget-to-moderate eateries in the area, with some just across the street. Easy access, if you need to be in that part of town (and we did). No particular road noise, but only a block or two from the highway. Room was musty and the cleaners turned off the A.C./fan whenever they cleaned, so room was always must when we returned (3 night stay). Nice bathroom, with room for a couple to shower and brush teeth without too much bumping into each other. Beds softer than I or my wife liked, but not too bad.

There's a very nice winery a bit north and just across the highway - maybe an 8 minute drive from the hotel. Spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon under a grape arbor with a bottle of wine and some cheese.
