Better than in SF
Use the hotel as a base of operations while visiting family and friends in/near SF. Easy freeway access. Good Internet access (better than regular Marriott hotels and resorts).

Great shopping and eating just one block away. Barnes & Noble and starbucks and California Pizza etc. Also an Apple store. Also Trader Joe's and BevMo etc. etc.

Good for the price paid
I think courtyard is a good choice for the price paid. Clean room with view of Emeryville or SF bay. Mine is facing Emeryville. There is a shopping plaza with high end stores and restaurants next to it - that makes dining easy. However, I am not too thrilled when I learned that I need to pay extra $9 for parking. I thought that should come with it, but that seems to be the case for most of the hotels in SF.

Great all around!
We checked in late and everything was great. Lots of retail shops and resturants in within walking area. On-site parking is around $9 a day. I didn't want to spend $$$ in San Fran, so went to the burbs to get a better deal. Husband and I drove into the city for a day's worth of site-seeing. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Close to Starbucks, Shopping and Movies
This hotel is conveniently located near shopping, movies and Starbucks. Our room had an exceptional view of the bay and San Francisco. It was a bargain compared to staying in San Francisco. The room was small, however, and staff had to be asked to make up the pullout and bring towels to accommodate my son.

Nice and Helpful.
the staff was very helpful and polite. we paid extra for the bay view but most of the day was low tide and it was more like a view of the mud.

I got screwed by orbitz pricing.
I got screwed by Orbitz. Orbitz had no record of my $98 room, and the price skyrocketed to $149. The internet site that records agreements had a malfunction.

Very Nice Hotel
The Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Emeryville was very comfortable and convenient. Close to shopping. Beds were extra comfortable. The entire facility was clean and well-taken care of. The only minor negative was that the gate to the guest parking area often didn't work reliably and it was sometimes necessary to buzz for someone to open the gate. Overall: excellent stay.
