Very Ordinary - Nothing Special!
We spent three nights at this hotel and found it to be very ordinary - nothing special at all! Most hotels leave extra towels in the room - this one had two people staying in the room and there were just two towels!!! Certainly not what one would expect of a Marriott!

easy access -close to everything
Great,helpful staff. Even had an "earthquake " experience. Will stay again. Beautiful Bay area weather.

Great place!
It's not cheap, but not unreasonable for the area, either. The hotel felt classy and had many wonderful features like workout rooms and a spa. The view of the Bay was fantastic and the room was clean and nice. I would stay there again, though I disliked the way the price crepe up as you add the view and parking ( a $9/day fee I did not discover until I arrived.)

Good experience. Friendly staff. Great location. 3.5 Star. The room I stayed, why was the coffee pot set inside the bathroom? Not too apetizing.

Comfortable Accommodations
Enjoyed our stay while helping our daughter move out of the dorms at Cal Berkeley. Was an easy drive to the Berkeley campus and the surrounding shopping area was wonderful! The room was comfortable, clean and roomy. We plan to stay here again when the time arises.

Nice Bay Area pied-a-terre . . .
This is a modern, well-maintained hotel right next to the freeway and San Francisco Bay. If you have a room on the bay/freeway side, you will have an interesting view which includes the Golden Gate bridge in the distance, and minimal traffic noise. The land side is basically a large modern cookie-cutter mall/retail district - everything you could need is within easy reach, but the immediate area lacks character. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and well-organized, and the staff are helpful. There's a small gym and a pool with jacuzzi, and a car rental desk in the lobby. Two things I didn't like: 1) There's a strange smell of disinfectant in the lobby at all times. We finally worked out that it was the chlorine from the pool. 2) The hotel was very quiet during our stay, but I get the feeling (judging from the few sounds I heard) that noise from plumbing and other guests could travel very easily through the (apparently) thin walls.
