When we were looking for a place to stay, we wanted free parking, free breakfast and easy to get to freeway. And this place had all. Great stay

Not the same Hyatt
The photos listed are old, the hotel looks nothing like this, it is so dirty! April 2012, my family and I stayed here, the rooms rooms were awful, bathroom was black with dirt, toilet permanent brown stain - and the bedding had hair and make-up. When I phoned they told me to change the sheets myself! This hotel does not live up to the Hyatt Hotel name, so don't expect clean!!

Hyatt of a different calibre for the budget minded
The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent on both days - one day highlighted scrambled eggs with pork link sausage and the next there was belgian waffles with bacon. Juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, yogurt, fresh fruit, assorted breads, cereals - good choice selection. The reception staff was friendly, smiling, helpful no matter what time of day. The full sized fridge was great, as well as the large walk in closet and an iron. TVs were good quality and king sized bed had many pillows. Cons: There is no hotel shuttle from LAX so you should rent a car. Taxi quoted at Hyatt being $16 but we ended paying $24 plus the tip. There was no elevator and if you are not on the first floor of 19 or so buildings, be prepared to walk up. Sofa bed looked rather worn in our unit. Thought the desk chair was cool and the huge decorative mirror was nice but the dining room chairs not so pleasing as the rest. However, property is well landscaped and taken cared of and there is ample parking. Saw many stores like CVS and Trader Joes, etc. plus Starbucks, places to eat close by so if had more time would have liked to explore the surrounding area. Felt safe and clean.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Flemings - short walk from the hotel but pricey and food not enjoyed by some in our party. Would try somewhere else. Saw a couple of other restaurants listed on the hotel site that was a few blocks away. Kitchenette is good so another option, buy beverages and snacks/foodstuff and enjoy in your room watching one of the two tvs in your suite.

5 Night Stay in LA before travelling up the coast to SF
The hotel, rooms, pool & spa were all clean and the staff were friendly. Parking was free and connecting to the free internet was easy. The flat screen TVs were nice. The breakfast buffet was good (hot & cold food - good variety) and the social hour was a nice treat. The hotel location is good (in between I405 and Sepulveda) so easy access to Hollywood (north on I405) or to the beaches, shops and restaurants (south on Sepulveda). Our room faced the parking lot, next to the elevated public transit line. I thought the trains would keep me up at night but I did not hear them at all -nonetheless, if possible, request a room overlooking the pool - nicer view! The only negative about our stay was the bed mattresses - they were a little uncomfortable and may be due for a replacement.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
There is a very popular Olive Garden Restaurant nearby on Sepulveda. The wait is usually 45-60 minutes. The restaurant gives you a device that lights up when your table is ready. We took the device with us while we walked around the beach and then returned in time for our table. Note that the device will ring as you leave the parking lot of the Olive Garden but it stops once you return,

Best hotel stay we have encountered
We arrived late on March 11th and our check in was very easy. We were so surprised when we opened the door to the amount of space we had in the 2 bedroom suite. I was traveling with my 70 year old mother, my 20 year old son and 17 year old daughter. The space was very much appreciated. The cleaning was exceptional every day. We were located on the second floor and there was no noise from traffic or other tenants. Having a fully functional kitchen was very necessary since my daughter has severe food allergies. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed. My mother was so impressed with the breakfast quality and selection every morning. It was very good and we were also grateful for the evening free snack (which was more like a meal)that was offered for all guests. The location is close to all areas and the fact that parking was free was also an added bonus. I can't beleive that we were so fortunate to have reserved this room for the cost we paid. Best decision we have made so far in booking hotels. Thanks again.
