I wouldnt go back
Construction next door woke me up at 7:30am. This was not disclosed when i booked...and it should be! The hotel is on the beach but there are no windows which could be opened to hear the waves. The hotel is a dump.

Great beach
Location was great (great beach) but could not get a room with a beach view and the room came across as a grunge motel (weird decor, reverse plumbing, etc). The savior of our evening was the fantastic happy hour (fantastic seafood at half price) at the restaurant next door with bar stools next to a doorway open to the beach.

Great location, appears to have some new items since I last there. WIFI (free) is available. Nice sundeck. TV's are tiny. Rooms are cold at night as you are right on the beach, I would suggest bringing an extra duvet from home if you are driving. Over priced, you are paying for the location.

Midwestern Ocean Lover
Nice stay on the ocean
I had a confrence downtown all week, and thought it would be great to have my partner come out and extend my stay in the San Diego area. Great decision! The hotel was right on the beach. Outstanding patio to sit and watch the surfers, families, and waves roll in. Wonderful mid to upscale resturaunts all within walking distance. Be aware the draw of this hotel is the location and the price. It is about a 2-3 star accommodation. It is on par with clean Best Western.

Don't stay here
Old Motel not worth the money, you can't leave your teenagers in the room without you being there, they disable your key card so you can not get back in the room. Then they lock the office at 11PM and no one answers the after hours number posted on the door. So I paid for a nights sleep there that I did not get because I could not get back in my room. Stay here only if you want to throw your money away.

No Frills
It wasn't what I expected. After I opened the door and turned on the air conditioning and ceiling fan, it was a lot better. It just smelled musty. There was a small stain on the carpet. It's just an older motel and I didn't know what to expect. The staff was friendly not overly which was fine. The woman in the office didn't know where I could find an ATM. There was a frig in the room but she couldn't tell me where there was a store to maybe get yogart or snacks. I found that myself by walking about 15 minutes to 15th St. where there was a bagel shop and Starbucks and a market. I also found an ATM. There is a coffee maker in the room!!!! It was a short stay. I liked being close to the beach. The sheets were clean!!

There is JAKES and Posiden just a moment from this Motel. But no small market. You have to walk to 15th St passed the L'AUBERGE HOTEL to find Del Mar Pizza and about a block after Del Mar Pizza is a shopping area where you can get fruit,yogart, coffee.

Unbeatable location- on the beach!
Great location on the beach with good surf! Noisy location with restaurant next door having morning deliveries and the trains horn all hours. We put the fan on in the room and helped out a lot. The beds were super comfortable and very clean rooms! Enjoyed walking to town 5 minutes away for breakfast & dinner, but most of all loved having the beach! Highly recommend it, especially in the off season!

Best view in del mar!
Poseidon next door has the best happy hr in north county! Del mar shops are affordable and only minutes away. The view from the deck is rivaled by none, not even the pricey la beurge hotel! Dinner at the plaza is always fun and great views for couples or just two single girls !

Great location but needs an update
Great location right on the ocean in Del Mar. With a location like this in a town with so much money you would expect a nice updated hotel room. The rooms looked like they had last been updated in the 80's.

Jake's Del Mar is less than 100 feet away from the hotel. Excellent food.
