The hotel is quite old but in good location. If in good day you will perhaps see the sunrise and sunset at the bay from this hotel. The desk people are very professional and sure your smooth check in is a consolation from a long, tiring
Just okay hotel to stop over for a night or two.
For the price this is an ok nigh stay. The bed is bouncy and the pillows are not the cleanest. Located just south of town, I guess the location is fine considering crescent city is notice of a destination itself anyways. Friendly staff and nice tv.
This hotel was close to the north Entrance to the Redwoods Highway and near some of the area restaurants. it's just off the highway, by the coast and we tried to go out to see the stars our second night but it was too cloudy. the free wifi didn't
really work, but otherwise this was a good stay!
We stayed at Super 8 two nights over spring break, room and toilet were clean, receptionists always easy to talk to. The free wifi wouldn't work when there were too many people on it, but it's better than nothing.
We were in town for a basketball tournament and did not want to pay a lot. It was clean, fairly comfortable, and provided breakfast. Our needs were met and it is a good, convenient location across from the wharf. We were able to take a nice walk
along the docks and enjoy the sights. The manager went out of his way to accommodate my special needs for a later check-out time. Overall, I was happy.
Stayed 2 nights, the rate, cheap BUT the room was gross, there was 1 soap no conditioner or lotion, th and 5 minutes after breakfast and ALL gone, didn't even offer me a roll or coffee. Didn't clean our room and we requested service for towels.
ALSO, there is a fog horn every 30 seconds and it will keep you awake, no fans available. And the alarm clock was broken. the owners rude and not helpful. If you want to be right on the beach and cheap is your thing it is ok, but bring food, toiletries and coffee !!! oh and the tub, toilet and floor were filthy.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Go see The Trees of Mystery. Very nice place, super people, and awesome price for the park tour and ride. Wear good walking shoes ! It was beautiful !!! And the lighthouse Battery Lighthouse is closed when the tides run high. You only find it out when you've walked up, but the tide pools there are great for kids !
They don't allow you to take ice cubes from dispenser except for room use only. $100 for a double room per night is too expensive! Breakfast is taken in front of the manager, so be prepared to wear a mask, if you don't feel like being watched.
