Comfortable for the night

We arrived late in the evening. We paid a little bit for the ocean view which was fantastic and well worth it the next morning. The decor was a bit outdated, but everything was very clean. Breakfast was simple, and served in the office with a tv. Overall, it was a good value.

Family vacation

We booked two rooms next to each other in advance because we were traveling with 2 small dogs and 3 teenage kids. When we arrived about 11:00 pm we found that one of the rooms was on the first floor and one on the second floor. They were able to change the second floor room to a first floor room but it was still a few doors down from the other room. The rooms were clean, but the toilet in our room was stopped up and the phone didn't have any dial tone so we had to walk back to the office to report it. Other than that, the rooms were OK. We had a partial view of the ocean and part RV park. This motel is on the far south end of town. It is pet friendly, but the only lawn spot was labeled "no pets" because it would burn the grass. Other areas were covered with large river rock. My 5 pound dogs used the grass "sorry about that" because they wouldn't go on the big rocks and they're too tiny for their urine to burn the lawn, I'm very particular about my lawn so I know this. It was an OK motel and a little out dated. I don't think we would stay here again because it's the farthest away from the relatives we came to visit.

If this is the only place left to stay drive on

Old and outdated hotel. The view is of the ocean if you can see over the RV/campers . Air conditioniong heats really well. I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to any one. STAY AWAY

ok, not great

we were promised a great view of the ocean when in fact, we did see a little bit of the ocean if you looked real hard over all the trailers and campers that were there. These people were permanent residents in the camping area so you can imagine all the fun stuff we got to see. We kept our drapes closed the entire time! room was very clean but the hotel staff was something else, not friendly or helpful at all!

Location Location Location

We stayed here 2 nights. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy, a lot of room though. We got an ocean front room on the first floor. we could see the ocean, but the back window looking out to the ocean is about 15 feet away from a busy road used for the pier. Slightly to the right is a rv/trailer park. This meant that we couldn't keep the window open to hear the ocean unless we wanted to hear trucks/cars/motorcylces driving by all night/early in the morning. Also the talking and sounds from the rv/trailer park kept us from opening it. Thankfully there is air conditioning and heating in the room. So if you are looking for a place to stay and don't want to look out the window then go for it.

Old but clean.

Working class town, simple hotel. Clean with a friendly staff. Selected a Ocean View room which was nice, but it also came with a lot of road noise.

much better than anticipated!!!

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is right on the highway and the beach. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The free breakfast is what we expected...average but the coffee was hot and fresh.

meeting needs

It's a simple hotel with simple comforts in an amazing location. Walking distance to what restaurants there are in the city. Hot tub was luke warm. Staff was helpful and friendly. Close to the northern redwood hiking trails. Worth the extra 10 a night for the view.

Convenient, well maintained, clean.

This hotel was a good value. It was clean, quiet and well maintained. Being right next to the marina was very convenient for us. The breakfast was typical of hotels at this price level. The waffle maker was a nice touch. The staff was polite. Everything worked. I didn't notice an elevator anywhere, but I didn't look to hard to find one. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
