Great short stay

The staff is very nice and the rooms clean. The restaurant is great. A bit noisy because of the outdoor walkways but overall pleasant stay.

not bad

Nice and efficient staff. Furnishings need modernising. Can be noisy at night. Good location. Wasn't expecting a motel, which it was. But it was good for a motel.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Writing this review after staying for the SECOND time in this place. 1st time we stayed, we got a room through a discount site & decided to give it a shot. We were in town for an event & celebrate my bday. Lamp keeps going off, cant unplug & replug because wires are literally glued into the outlets but crookedly so the lights are a hassle & flicker. Roommate got hit in the head w/ the showerhead that flew off. Complained to the front desk who finally got someone up there an hr later. Handyman 'fixed' it, we gave it a try, rattled something crazy, when we showed the handyman he said 'It works right?" Took a shower fearing getting hit in the face. Complained the next morning to the mngr Christopher Martinez who was pleasant enough, said he couldn't do anything for us since we had gone thru discount site but gave us his card, insisted we stay with them again & he would give us a discount. Offered us b-fast coupons to their restaurant but we had just eaten. Fast-forward one month, have to come into town again. We decide to give it another shot. Christopher of course cannot be reached. Surprise surprise. Speak to front desk staff who gives us a 'suite' for discount. Go into the room, bathroom contains one towel, fridge leans to the front so nothing can stay in it (had soda/water/ apples/oranges), all rolling out. Call to front desk, same handyman who puts a tiny block of wood under fridge which of course doesnt work. Have to wait around an hour for new fridge. Call front desk to cancel since we had time restraints. Nick says okay, handyman will not enter room if no one is there. Literally seconds after I hang up, handyman is at my door with Nick on walkie phone who is telling the handyman, knock if no one is there go ahead and go in and replace it. Rude! It's Halloween so we dress up and go downstairs to wait for a taxi. Nick, Alex & Gary (apparently the night mngr) are there. I am complaining while dressed up as a scary clown so I guess they take this as a sign to be rude & condescending. Laugh when I say I am going to give them a bad review & complain. Ooooh & watch out for the big hole with sharp edges in the DEFINITELY NOT HEATED pool!!!!!!

Good value

This hotel is in a good location, close to Newport Beach and not too far from John Wayne airport. My room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the hot water temperature changed during my showers, and some of the tv channels were fuzzy....but overall, a good experience.

OK hotel

The hotel was OK; the room had a bit of a musty odor. Also, the front desk clerk who helped me when I first arrived was less than friendly, as he snapped his gum. The best parts of the hotel were the very hot showers, the pool, jacuzzi and proximity to Newport Beach.

I had one of most delicious pizzas in my life at Round Table Pizza located in Costa Mesa on E 17th Street. I had the individual size Pepperoni Artisan Flatbread pizza and it was so amazing and very reasonably priced. I'll definitely visit them again when I return to the area. :-)

beach vacation

It was alright, the beach was further then I thought, we were told it was walking distance from the beach, wrong, very disappointed. the maid didnt speak english and kept giving us decaf coffee in stead of regular, se couldnt read the package. they had a washer and dryer but not laundry soap, a vending machine of laundry products would have been conventent.the hotel wasnt bad. we went to newport beach, catalina island and huntington beach, it brought back memories, all in all we had a good time we stayed an extra two days. thanks
