Perfect location!
Though this is an older motel, it was nicely maintained, clean, and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and groceries. The rooms were clean, but could have used some updating and added conveniences like a mini frig and more counter space in the bathroom. For the price...and the premium location....we would definitely stay here again, and we're kinda picky about our hotels accomodations.

Perfect location
This was our 2nd experience with Best Western and it was not a disappointment! Nice grounds, great room with fireplace and large bathroom. It was very cold in the room at first but after leaving the heat and the fireplace on for a while we were comfy! Walking distance to everywhere in town. Darling general store right next door. Overall great experience! Free breakfast always a plus!

SHOULD HAVE SHOPPED AROUND
Our suite was lovely and clean. But better deals can be found. We stay in Carmel frequently but never on Junipero. This street is a main access road to Carmel and near many fine dining establishments. Down side we were awake at five from all of the loud street noises and it never stopped. Tried to get breakfast twice the morning we were leaving size of breakfast room woefully under sized for the amount guests this property can accomadate. People were standing up to eat. I guess they save money on the hot breakfast because we and several other guest gave up and left. My advice if you want some quiet don't stay on this street. Would recommend San Carlo Ave any of the properties on upper San Carlos

Paid more then it's worth
I bought this hotel for a film festival i was attending, so when the rate was extremely high i wasn't take aback. However, when i got to the room i was very disappointed in the size and setup. Very small and plain. Worst of all there was no air conditioning, the heat at this time of year was a little higher then normal, but there was no escape from it.

Clean, efficient, low cost
We stayed 3 days and saw all of Carmel and Point Lobos. This hotel is situated perfectly to do that. My favorites are the photography galleries and those galleries specializing in the early California painters. Our room and the entire hotel was clean and comfortable, and, for the area, low priced. The front desk refrigerated my prescription medication for me in their refrigerator, as our room did not have a refrigerator (and gave me 24 hour access to it). We had booked for 2 days. Although they were sold out, they found a way to fit us in a 3rd day. We were having so much fun in Carmel we couldn't do it all in 2 days! We will be back to Carmel and this hotel.

Demitra Cafe (Mediterranean cuisine) was a fantastic surprise. Excellent food and better atmosphere. On a busy night, and after a single introduction he remembered our names at the end of the night.

Paper thin walls
The location is great, the room old but fine for the price. The bed was so saggy me and my husband woke up stiff and sore. The worst part was the walls were so thin, you could tell what every neighbor was doing - showering, toiletting, talking, TV. We bought ear plugs for the 2nd night.

Very pleasant weekend getaway
We had a very pleasat weekend getaway. The hotel's location was rather convenient, in a walking distance from downtown of Carmel, where all smaller a bigger stores and restaurants are located. The beach was in a walking distance as well. The rooms were rather clean and cozy, but a little small. The price was pretty good. Overall, our stay was a very pleasant experience. I wouldn't mind to use that hotel again.
