Rodeway Inn Near Legoland

Friends were getting married and I found this motel which looked like it would suit my needs. I pretty much needed a clean room with a bug-free bed. This room had a fridge and microwave and beyond some trouble with the access cards on the room doors, it was clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet. The best part is its proximity to everything I needed.

The staff was not welcoming! The location was in the boonies! The room smelled like mold! My youngest son-2yrs old, has bites on him from the room!!! I found a FLEA on his arm!!! He has bites on his arms and head :( There was a very creepy drunk man wandering around, no security! Will NEVER stay there again!!!!

The staff was friendly. My room and the premises were very clean which made the visit very relaxing and comfortable. I will definately come back again.

We stay one night at this hotel in Carlsbad because my son likes legoland.We have stayed at 3 hotels during our trip. The price of this hotel is not the lowest,but the service is the worst. First, the attitude of the reception staff is very bad. Second, We booked a smoke-free room, but the room we stayed had a very strong smell of cigarette.Third, the so called free internet is virtually a joke, I can not open any webpage using it. Fourth, We can not sleep because the very loud noise from freeway I-5 just behind the hotel. Fifth, the so called breakfast is also a joke.

the continental breakfast was not great, they needed a few hot food for families with children, not just sweet pastries. They Needed hot cereal, hot chocolate and boiled eggs, or waffles. Most Inns and Motels we've stayed at had all these "great continental breakfast". Travelers how are "diabetic" would enjoy these other type of food. And why does Rodeway Inn charge for kids under 12!! Not a good place to stay for familes with children. Thankyou.

Location was convenient to attend a High School Class Reunion @ the Windmill and a Champagne Brunch in Oceanside Sunday morning. Used to travel frequently, I would recommend this Roadway Inn for overnight or longer stays.

Not a bad drive to San Diego right off the freeway.. Nice sized room not the greatest beds ever but not the worst. Nice place for a really good price for a weekend getaway.

When I arrived, they put us in a room that included 2 double beds when a king size bed non-smoking bed was requested. When confronted with the error, they blamed the issue on [...] and had no other King Bed Non Smoking rooms available. We ended up in a King Bed Smoking (very smelly) room with a running toilet and a jacuzzi that did not work.

This is a good motel for the price. Rooms are updated and clean. Hotel buildings are old but insides are remodeled somewhat. Great location. Close to Legoland (2 miles) and the beach (1 mile). The free wireless internet was a big plus for us. One drawback...they serve the breakfast right in the check-in area. There are only 2 tables. Had to bring breakfast back to room. They only offer muffins, cereal, juice and coffee. Still we thought the motel was good for the price.
