Motel 6 Carlsbad Downtown

It was a prime location for the cost! Can't beat it! The hotel was not the best quality but my budget was low and everything I wanted was in walking distance.

Motel 6 is notorious for being a no-thrills lodging option. This particular Motel 6 is no exception. [...] and other staff did an excellent job. Check-in, check-out, internet pass-code purchase, and wake-up call were all handled promptly and service was excellent. Internet here is a great value as well ($2.99/24-hours) its not the fastest in the world, but I was able to stream music from Pandora without any trouble. Aside from the amenities this Motel is in a great location for the price. Although it is near the freeway and main street, noise was not a problem. A short walk away is a gas station/convenience store, grocery store, Carl's Jr, Denny's and more. I would recommend a bike to get around town. Carlsbad is very bike-able and a bike can extend distance over walking and relieve park-spot hunting headache

We used Motel 6 as an "extra bedroom" for a beachside condo that family members rented. The room was clean and convenient but no frills. (no shampoo, tiny soaps, hair dryer and iron available at desk w/deposit). One mile from beach, just off I-5 but room was quiet enough. Hint: for same price, queen bed rooms are larger. Fast food next door, local eateries an easy walk away. Albertsons and laundry across the street. Best deal available for the price.

you get what you pay for. When I woke up, I noticed that there were stains on the sheets at the foot of the bed. Front desk was nice enough to refund the next night, but didn't say sorry for the dirty sheet.

The room was clean, the towels small, and the internet had a fee on useage. It is not much, but I was not going to pay that fee. They should eliminate it.

I thought this was a great place for the money. Clean room, new carpet, friendly staff, good location right next to I-5 (not noisy at all). The room is minimal in accommodations and no frills, but very adequate for our needs. My daughter and I went there to spend some mom and daughter time and enjoy San Diego area. I did not want to spend lots of $$ on hotels so this was a great choice for that. We would stay there again. Denny's, Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr. all right there. Walmart, mall, McDonalds, Olive Garden, Baskin Robbins all 1 mile north. Carlsbad shops and beach just down the street about 1 mile.

We did a lot of walking. Ate dinner at a street side cafe. Hit the weekly street fair. Happened to be there for the yearly art festival. Walked to the beach, had ice cream, etc. The hotel is close to Denny's. Carl's Jr., Jack in the Box, and KFC. The teens could go get something to eat on their own. We slept in the room and showered the rest of the time we were out enjoying Carlsbad and the great weather.

A refrigerator and a box of tissue would have been helpful.
