La Quinta Inn San Diego/Carlsbad

This was a perfect location for us since we were going to Legoland and it was 10 minutes away. I was a little scared since this Hotel is right next to the fwy(I was not aware of this when I booked it) But it was not at all noisy and we were able to sleep fine. Room was clean, bed was really comfy too. In the morning we went to check out the breakfast which we never have at other hotels since it doesn't look good! The breakfast here was Nice! I had a toasted bagel and my hubby made the kiddo a waffle, which they have everything just ready for you to pour! Fresh apples and bananas Was a Plus! =)

Nice hotel, no real complaints. Close to I-5, Legoland, and the beach. Nice service, breakfast was ok, nice little pool area.

Excellent staff and service. Our room wasn't cleaned on time when we arrived so they upgraded us to a suite. Lots of "zonies" stay here. They have discount tickets to area attractions. Breakfast is just OK, waffle makers could have worked better. Sound of the freeway heard through the night. Soft towels.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. However, if you are a light sleeper, I would suggest you stay at a hotel further away from I-5. Continental breakfast was great.

room was clean, front desk very helpful. pool in excellent shape, breakfast was appropriate.

Everything was as advetized. Nice comfy rooms and quiet even though it was right by the freeway. We brought our little Dachsund along and they were very accomodating. They just asked us to give them a cell phone number to call in case there was a problem while we were out. I saw washers and dryers there, although we didn't need them it was nice to know they were there. There was a minifridge (stock your own)a microwave and a coffee maker all in one small little unit. Free wi-fi was great although a little tricky and there aren't many places to plug in, but that's no biggie. The staff were all very very friendly and helpful and treated us great. They have a free breakfast with a waffle maker, bagels, pastries juice etc. Very nice stay.

This was a Legoland trip for our family and we were on a tight budget. We looked around for good deals on hotels before finally making our choice. We're not high-maintenance folks, but we do have our "non-negotiables" when it comes to lodging; such as, location, area safety, parking, cleanliness, and family-friendly atmosphere. La Quinta was a very good fit for us. The hotel property is in a nice area; across from a somewhat upscale, gated residential community. It is about 5 minutes away from a wide selection of restaurants and shopping centers. More important (for us), it took about 10 minutes from the hotel parking lot to the turnstiles at Legoland. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The property is nicely maintained. The staff was professional. The breakfast area was well-kept and well-stocked with items (the lady that did the tidying up when we were there did a very good job!). The only issue we encountered was that the hotel is adjacent to the busy I-5; so we had to turn on the A/C unit in order to drown out the freeway sounds. Also, the breakfast selection is the same everyday so it may get boring after the 3rd day. All in all, the place is a good value for the price!

For the price...this was a very nice stay.

Nice clean rooms, flat panel TV, microwave, refrig. Some rooms are near the highway, other rooms facing away and are quieter.
