Perfect Legoland experience
Grand Palisades is in walking distance of Legoland, which was key for us. Breakfast was served every morning at Karl Strauss brewery, a great place with excellent food, super friendly staff and very reasonable prices. We highly recommend this family hotel and would go again any time.

Great Accomodations!
Even though we live in San Diego, Legoland is about 45 minutes from our house. We decided to book a night for convenience. After booking, I was concerned by the negative reviews, but the convenience of the location was worth the chance...I was not disappointed! Staff was friendly and overly accomodating. Had a root-beer float party in the lobby the night we were there. Enjoyed complimentary Starbucks coffee between designated hours and for a fee otherwise. Kiddo had fun in the game room and the gym was nicely equipped. The convenience of the mini-kitchen allowed us to save $ by bringing some of our own food. Very Happy and will return again.

Legoland Close
We stayed in 2 time-share condos with our son, wife & 2 grand kids. This place is really close to Legoland (a 5 minute walk). If you were not planning to go there, I'd pass on it. The timeshares get new towels on Tuesdays & Thursdays & that's it for the cleaning service unless you pay extra. Nothing else is replaced or cleaned. No shampoo, etc. You must really plan to bring your own things to the condo part of the resort. There is a nice waterpark for kids & an adult pool. If you are not traveling with kids going to Legoland, I can't imagine why you would want to stay there. The only restaurant has a page of food & a page of craft beers, which seems a little weird to me for a kid friendly place. Our 15 year old went in alone for a sandwich & was offered info about the beers!

What a nightmare experience!
The only reason we booked this hotel is it closes to Legoland, where we would celebrate my son's 4 year's birthday. We didn't rent a vehicle as it's just within a walking distance. We arrived at the hotel around 7pm and we were told " we have sold all rooms and no room left..... and we have no choice but to assign you to another one in 15 min. by car...". After two hours debating, we requested a discount or a kind of compensation for the change (if we move)and all these were turned down by the two managers on duty ([...]). It was almost 9pm at this time, the kid was very tired, then we went to the designated place. It's was close to 10pm, no restaurants in business or to deliver(as we didn't have vehicle!). The kid fell asleep without any food at the night to his birthday. The hotel promised to provide a shuttle service (only two times), one time with 20 min late and another one with 1 and half hour late! As a result, we had to change our schedule to stay just one day at Legoland instead of two days as originally planned. It's nightmare! The responses from these two managers and a letter from its director of customer services are totally unprofessional! [...]

GOOD OVERNIGHT GETAWAY
HOTEL WAS NICE, STAFF VERY FRIENDLY I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU TO EAT BREAKFAST THERE IN THE HOTEL AS OPPOSED TO THE RESTARAUNT ACROSS THE PARKING LOT. THAT WAS A LITTLE WIERD FOR ME. IT IS CLOSE TO LEGOLAND BUT NOT THAT CLOSE YOU DEFFINETLY HAD TO WALK NOT TOO BAD GOING THERE BUT ON YOUR WAY BACK IT WAS A LITTLE HARD FOR MY SON BECAUSE OF FEET HURTING. I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE KIDS WATERPARK AT THE HOTEL UNTIL WE WERE GETTING READY TO LEAVE THE NEXT DAY..BUT THE STAFF SAID IT WOULD BE OKAY TO STAY AFTER WE CHECKED OUT...SO THAT THAT WAS NICE OVERALL A NICE PLACE TO STAY..I WOULD STAY AGAIN

Great Family Hotel
Great location, right across the street from Legoland, we walked every day. Nice family pool area with water park and hot tub. Room a little small, but still adequate. Beds are comfortable! I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunate Experience
Upon arriving at hotel, we were told by staff that our room is unavailable because the party staying in it has not checked out and by law they can't make them leave. I didn't believe that excuse and questioned the staff more on it; I felt that they were insulting my intelligence. The staff then said that they made reservations at another nearby hotel and we would get the same rate; even though we didn't want to stay there. When we arrived at the new hotel, thae staff at that hotel had NO RECORD of our reservation being placed by Grand Pacific Palisades. Furthermore, the hotel was not really open (it was a soft open) and they only had limited rooms available; but NONE of the size/type to support a family with 2 children under the age of 5. While talking to that staff, 3 more parties came to that hotel, that were sent down to them by Grand Pacific Palisades (GPP), and all of them were told the same "BS" story that we were told that they could not check into their rooms because the people staying in them prior had not checked out. It became clear that GPP had overbooked clients and GPP were ditching valued customers to other lower quality hotels without taking care of the customer. As a result, my family vacation turned into a disaster has I had to refocus time on trying to find a hotel that had at least a 1 bedroom suite for the children. GPP eventually found us a room a day later for the remainder of our stay, but by then, the damage had been done.
