Why aren't they honoring purchases?
The front desk staff person told us there were no doubles available and that we would have to stay in one of their King singles. Luckily I brought a copy of my receipt showing my double purchase. He didn't seem phased that we wouldn't be receiving what we purchased, nor that it was unacceptable since we needed the extra bed. He made a comment about how the best thing to do is to call the hotel directly to make sure that you get what you're looking for. Very disappointing. After several minutes, he figured out how to "trick the system" and get us the double room we paid for. Luckily the room made up for the extremely bad initial experience. It's really too bad. We thought it was a convenient location, good filling breakfast, customer service was horrible. They need to understand that these days folks expect their online purchases to be honored.

Perfect Get Away !!!
The staff was great. The location of the property was within walking distance of Legoland, restaurants and the outlet mall. Perfect location for whatever you and your family have in mind. Close to the beach as well.

GREAT GETAWAY
I loved staying here! The staff is great and the room was awesome, very clean. They offer a shuttle van that takes you to and from Legoland which was a total plus for us. The outlets are right across the street if you are interested in doing a little shopping. Overall we had a great experience and will definately recomend it. We will be staying here again:)

Wonderful Family Vacation
I enjoyed staying at this hotel, it is very kid friendly. The shuttle to Legoland was great and the shuttle driver was very informative. The contenential breakfast was also wonderful, the staff was constantly refilling and cleaning. My daughter is vegitarian and they had multiple alternatives for her to eat every morning. If you stay you have to eat at the Fish House next door, they have the best clam chowder soup.

Awesome Hotel
Carlsbad by the Sea Resort is a great value for the price and location. The room was clean and up to date and had a balcony (with chairs ) facing the courtyard pool. The Resort also offered a FREE shuttle to Legoland that was on call while the park was open. It's also walking distance to the beach, outlet mall shopping and several restaurants. Carlsbad by the Sea also offered a free breakfast, which had variety. We plan on staying there again.

Good times!
If you, like us, are headed out to the beach and Legoland, it really doesn't get any better. The location is fantastic, the ammenities are really great, the staff are incredibly nice. The walls are a bit thin and the matresses could be better, but overall, this resort (for the price) is great!

King's Fish House is one of the best family friendly sea food restaurants I have ever been to. The kids menu cannot be beat in both what it features foodwise and in activities and entertainment. The sushi was amazing. The choppino to die for, and the clam chowder was the best I have ever eaten. Do not miss the chance to eat here!

Hotel in Carlsbad
We had a great experience. Everything was great. The only problems were that we had a had time located the hotel because the entrance is not on the street of the address. The location was perfect. It was close to shopping the beach and restaurants. We were disappointed in the breakfast.

Good location, nothing else...
Good location but hotel needs some serious renovations. Convenient shuttle (van) to Legoland and average continental breakfast.
