Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort

We stayed in a standard hotel room, which was comfortable, but nothing special. Because the refrigerator was tiny, and no microwave, we ended up eating every meal out. On a previous trip we had stayed in a 1-BR condo unit which was much nicer. Location is great; convenient to beach, shops and easy highwaty access to all of the attractions.

You can't beat the location. Across the street from the beach and there are so many shops and restaurants within walking distance in the Village. The room was just okay. Anytime "resort" is in the name you have certain expectations. This hotel definately doesn't meet the expectations of a resort. There is no spa, no pool side food or drink service, no room service, so if you don't plan on hanging around the hotel it's perfect. We were having such a good time we stayed longer than originally planned. They were very accommodating in extending our reservation and kept us in the same room. Because we stayed longer doing some laundry was necessary so I was glad they had a coin-op laundry mat on site. The hotel has a lot of activities available and you can borrow beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, etc. We would stay here again.

Other reviews said that Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort was a pretty nice place, and it is! Some of the units have been modeled and they are lovely. Try to get one of those if you can. The downside, is that there are a lot of children and we were woken up every morning with screams in the hallway. We had tough luck there because the adult jacuzzi was out AND our first night there the water was turned off for servicing! No jacuzzi, loud kids, no water equals two stars but the staff we very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help u so I bumped it up.

We stayed at the Carlsbad Inn to be close to our friends and grandchildren. Everyone came to visit and we felt like we were entertaining at home.. Very capable and friendly staff. Ocean view and really close to everything. Parking was easy, grounds are beautiful.

We had a great time and the staff was great. The place is very pretty. Located just steps from the beach which was great for that was the main reason for going there. The grounds were kept up nicely around the Inn.

Great family vacation spot close to the beach. Loved the boogie boards,chairs, beach toys, and all the activities -- especially enjoyed bingo night when we won surfing lessons and that you could check out old board games like scrabble. Dining was fantastic -- all just steps away from the resort -- no need to drive. Great to have kitchen in room and the outdoor bbq was very convenient. The coaster train was fun too and very easy to take into San Diego to see the USS Midway and seaport village. Excellent shops as well in Carlsbad.

Such a great place to go with young kids. (Ours are 2 and 4, both boys). We stayed in a one bedroom condo on the first floor facing the lawn and it was so great to just let the kids go outside and play with all the other kids outside. The full kitchen was excellent to have when going out to eat with kids who are tired from visits to the zoo, beach, etc is too tough (and expensive) to handle. The staff was helpful and friendly, the place was kept very clean. I can't say that we had any complaints! The whole family felt that this was a great find of a hotel.

This was my first time at this hotel and absolutely loved every part of it. The only downside is there is only one ice machine for the whole resort.

Overall great place to stay. Located across the street from beach and restaurants. Very clean and nice amenities. The standard hotel-style room was decorated nice and looked recently updated. Grounds are nice and there are alot of places to relax in a comfortable chair/lounge outside. The pool area was a little small for the size property. The only downside was our room was located on the street and it was noisy, even at night.

Location is great, many things to walk around and see. Close to freeway to access the outlet shops only about 30 minutes from San Diego, went to Balboa Park to see many of the museums. Went to 2 of the California Missions. The hotel has a wonderful view of the ocean, was disappointed because I requested a oceanview room and when we checked in there were none available, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Had to go out on the lawn to enjoy the sound of the ocean and enjoy the view. The staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean.
