No Friendly People Inn

The Campbell Inn is an average hotel with below average staff. We were made to feel as if we were bothering the clerks at check-in. Both failed to even acknowledge our presence until they were forced to do so. One of the ladies even raised her hand to quiet me as I began to speak. At check out, the guy in the casual pull-over told me he couldn't give me a receipt. "You're good," he said. Not really, bro! Seriously, in a tough job climate like this one, how do individuals like this get hired?

mediocre,outdated hotel

Positives: Excellent free breakfast;good variety of food to please most tastes. Right on a safe(southbound),well used, paved walking/running /jogging trail.Excellent childrens park nearby, with larger county park about a mile further south. Convientent location.Within walking distance of two different retail areas with lots of shops and restaraunts. Negatives: Rooms worn with old fixtures.Dirty carpets--you will leave footprints on the bathroom floor. Housekeeping sloppy--forgot to restock some items at times, and didn't do a thorough job of vacuuming and dusting/wiping surfaces. Many items adverised were non existant: no laundry service or free newspaper.Tennis court in disrepair;had four foot tall weeds growing out of baselines. Hotel didn't seem to be concerned about problems.I had dangerously hot water which I found out through another resident who had stayed in my room just before me(They reported it and were given another room).Nothing was done about it during my stay, which was more than two weeks. No security presence.I had several occasions where people disturbed me in the middle of the night by smoking and talking loudly outside of my room for long periods of time, forcing me to confront them.

Fair for the money

The hotel was older but decent. It was located next to a nice trail and was close to where we needed to go. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was fair but what do you expect it's free and inexpensive. If you just need a place to rest your head, it'll work.

Bad odor

I have been staying in many hotel, never expirienced this smelly room before. The odor (sour) was awful. Seems like the maid was washing floors in bathroom with dirty, unrinsed rug going from one room to the other. I had to use a wet towel to get rid of the smell, otherwise the whole room gets smelly. Than you

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Santana Row. We loved it everything about that place. The best place to eat was Cocola Bakery and Left Bank restauraunt. Hated the LB steak house. Absolutely awful service and bad food. DId not like Lark Creek Blue either.

Well that's cheap motel not hotel

It's not hotel, it's more like motel from those movies: room doors goes outside (not on the street though) and you can hear everything behind you door. + breakfast + small fridge in a room + free wifi - door lock was broken - next to the highway - expensive for the value - cheap appliances in the room - can be cleaner - not suitable for staying with kids

Fair for the price

The hotel was older but the room was a good size. It had some wires sticking out of the ceiling and plastic stuff under the bed. It was further than the 4 miles stated on the website

Solid hotel

This hotel is dated, but the staff was friendly and the room was clean. The location is amazing. The Pruneyard was walkable, as was downtown Campbell. It was great not having to worry about driving anywhere for the two days I was staying here. The shower was also really awesome and large, which I loved. Overall, this was definitely a positive experience.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Boswells in the Pruneyard is a fun, divey bar, and they do karaoke on Tuesdays. Khartoum in downtown (little longer walk) has a really fun vibe, too, and they do trivia on Tuesdays.
