Just average

we stayed here as a half way point on a trip to san fransisco. We were not looking for anything special just a bed to sleep in. It was clean enough and served its puprose. Not a hotel meant for extended stay.

simple, safe, satisfactory

This motel is a good stopping place on I-5 for accessing the Carrizo Plain National Monument (via Hwy 58). It's a simple, satisfactory motel for the price... we found it clean and remarkably quiet (for close proximity to the interstate), and the staff were very helpful. There are several eating places within walking distance, and several places to get gas.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Buttonwillow is a useful place to access the Carrizo Plain National Monument from the northeast (I-5 intersection with Hwy 58). Highway 58 between Buttonwillow and the Plain's major road (Soda Lake Road) is full of twists and turns, so you can't make speed, but the hills you drive through are beautiful, and the Carrizo Plain is extraordinary!

Motel 6 works again....

I needed a place to sleep and didn't need a lot of amenities. This was such a place -- quiet, clean, comfortable. All of this was at a very reasonable price. It met my needs very well.

bleh

It's just a Motel 6 off the interstate, so what is there to say. Room was forty bucks. Small. Had one of those toilets that feels like a toilet in a public stall, with no lid. Tiny bathroom. Bed was alright. One thing I will say, the smell was horrible in this whole area. It wasn't just the motel, but everywhere around this little interstate oasis. Luckily the room shut it out ok. I'm sure it has something to do with LA.

Unfortunately poor

Very serious fly problem due to proximity to dairy. Room fixtures are old, worn, broken, & shabby. Great low price but perhaps too low, needs reinvestment. Staff was helpful though.

Musty and dank

The smell hit when we opened the door. Musty, with a touch of old smoke, (eventhough we requested a non-smoking room.) Stained carpet - But then again, you get what you pay for. Place is cheap and right along the freeway.

This works out perfectly if you are just stopping by to sleep for the night. Decent place, nothing shady.

Clean, good value

Stayed overnight for track days at BRP. Clean, reasonably well kept, nice front desk. Fine when you're just looking for a few winks.

No frills, but good value

I would rate it as a decent value for the money, but with few amenities. The beds aren't terribly comfortable and it's a little louder than some hotels. For $38 a night, however, my expectations weren't too high. Bring your own shampoo, as you'll just find a mini soap.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There aren't many options for dining in Buttonwillow, but a short walk (shorter drive) from the hotel is Willow Ranch BBQ. It's not fine dining, but the food is good; the servers, always friendly.
