Not all it was cracked up to be....
[...] there are signs specifically posted saying "NO SMOKING" however, there were a number of guests as well as hotel staff smoking outside the front doors of the hotel and the doors were being propped open. I travel very frequently on business and our preferred hotel is the Marriott. I decided to give the Holiday Inn a shot as your internet ad seemed to point out some good things and it seemed reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I will not be staying at a Holiday Inn Express or otherwise in the near future due to this experience.

Great for late arrival, early depart.
Late arrival at SFO, for early drive to Carmel for US Open. Wanted an inexpensive overnight with easy access to SFO and 101.

Visited our son who lives in San Mateo and toured the city of San Francisco. We thought the shuttle to and from the air port was nice. Access to the BART and the Caltrain were a little awkward, but with some help from the front desk and a trusty map we navigated our way to AT&T Park to see the Giants. The rooms were small but ok. Breakfast was good and the overall service was way above average.

Easy freeway access to downtown SF
Over all it was a great place. Air conditioner wasn't working the first day but a mechanic was called and was working on day 2. The nice front desk girl gave us a fan to at least get some air movement throughout the room. Beds were a little harder than what we are used to. Great breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bisquits and gravy, cereal, pastries, bagels, yogurt, fruit, etc. Easy freeway access with only a 15 minute drive to downtown SF.

Fantastic helpful staff lovely stay
The evening staff rose above expectations. We were provided with a map to assist us in our travels the following day. Wonderful job!

Excellent Stay
Really enjoyed the room and the hot breakfast and the exercise room. Dinner at Max's was delicious. Good shuttle service to the airport.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Location is just right next to the 101 and accessible to all the nice spots in San Francisco, they also offer free downtown and airport shuttle. There was alittle problem finding a parking spot at night because the hotel was full. Beds are not queen size, they call it full size beds which is approximately three quarters the size of a queen size bed.

Max's Grill is just about 50 ft from the hotel lobby great food but if you are looking for something else, you dont have to go far, everything you want is just within 2 mi radius.
