Santa Ynez Valley hotel located close to Solvang
The Santa Ynez Valley Marriott is just three miles from the Danish community of Solvang. Just ok....
We needed a room for the night on the way to Monterey. The location is very convenient off Hwy 101. But that was the best part of it. Rooms are very dated and the whole place could use an upgrade. When I got to my room, there was a white film on the back of the 70's era wooden bathroom door. Overall, wasnt worth the money or of the Marriott name.

Great Hotel, Lousy Desk Clerk
We arrived early and were checked in right away (around 1 PM). Room, amenities, facilities were all excellent. Refused to honor the breakfast for 2 adults included in my pre-paid reservation and on my receipt. The lady desk clerk told me had no breakfasts included, I showed her my receipt showing the included breakfasts and she said that receipt means nothing. No breakfast. On checkout I made a complaint to another desk clerk who told me he would have honored the breakfasts.Too late for us, we had just returned from another restaurant. For an otherwise classy hotel, this was a very rude and classless way to treat prepaid customers.

The purpose of our stay was to visit the local wineries and Solvang. Hotel location was great for us. Very few restaurants close by, plan on driving several miles for dinner.

Like Sleeping Next to a Nightclub
We had reserved a King Bed, but they only had queens, after much talk we were able to get a King room... which was right next to the Queen one we were given initially. Cut to 10 pm coming home from dinner and heading to bed... except it sounds like there is a nightclub in a tent outside our window. Funny... because there was. They had installed a huge event tent outside on the patio no more than 20 ft away from our room. With a wonderful wedding that was rocking till well after midnight. Good times

Beautiful Hotel
The hotel is much more beautiful on the inside. Great staff. Great location. Clean. The rooms were really nice and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. Can't wait to go back.

Great Everything!!!!
We had a beautiful room with down beds and pillows. As well as blankets that smelled clean. The room had all the amenities and I looooved the blow dryer, I plan to order on on-line. I would definitly stay there again.

Eat at the Ballard Inn. The cheif there is excellent and the lamb was perfect. Not to mention the desert. They even sat us at a private table because it was out anniversary and we did not have reservations on a Saturday night! But it turned out to good to be true.
