Days Inn Buellton - Solvang

We were able to checkin an hour earlier. The front desk staff was nice. We went by the pool for a few hours and he whole time, the gardner was mowing the lawn. On a Saturday when guests are coming in for the weekend to sit by the pool? It was very disturbing. Not many nice hotels in Buellton and this is one of the only ones that allows one night stay on the weekend. We paid too much for this place $160; but it was a Saturday so they get you. Very old hotel too so it's pretty loud if there are partiers there. They have a bar which apparently is a local hang out so it's pretty loud. If you're planning on just sleeping there it's fine.

We opened the refrigerator and the smell was so bad, we had to open the doors to air the room. When getting ready to check out found empty bottles under the bed from prior guest. Sign is so small, we passed twice and finally asked for directions (from motel across the street!)

Dirty, moldy, run-down. TV reception looked like it was from the 60's. For that price i expected much better! Will never stay there again.

This place is so dated and old, and the rooms were nothing to write home about. I liked the high vaulted ceiling of the 2nd floor. The pool was closed the whole time I was there. The wireless internet was out for 24 hours without reason. The free continental breakfast was skimpy. This location was in the middle of nowhere. I have to say, I did not enjoy this place at all.

Spent 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. Very nice and clean, Bed was a little stiff for my satisfaction. Overall it was a nice place to stay!!!!

The only good thing was it was right off the freeway. Besides that, I would not stay here again. The shower was so old & unkempt that we left the next day w/o taking a shower. The bed, well I slept in my sweatpants and sweatshirt with the hood over my head because I didn't want any part of me touching the sheets. I walked around with my sneakers on b/c I didnt know what could be on the carpet. If we had paid under $100 at least we could say we got what we paid for, but at $145, it was way overpriced! WE WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN!!!

The room was pretty spacious. It was a great bargain. Too bad for the lack of wifi in the rooms away from the front.

We had a non-smoking double queen bedroom. Room was clean, but outdated. Don't expect the Marriott. It has a microwave and a fridge, both functional. Bathroom has a blowdryer. Something ab it weird was the coffee maker was in the bathroom. They offer soap and shampoo, but no conditioner. Cleaning lady was very friendly and serviced our room right away. Both receptionist were friendly during check in and check out times. We stayed on first floor, so we were able to park right in front of our room. Pool was not heated, but jaccuzzi was. Sink was clogged but fixed right away. No iron nor ironing board. Friend had to iron her to with her hair flat iron. Noise level was a bit high, but not enough to bother us. Continental breakfast was ok. There was a line for the waffle maker though. The circuit braker kept going down, so that created a bit of chaos in the morning. We picked this hotel for the convenient location. We were only about 4 miles from Solvang. Overall, price reflected service. If you're only wanting a place to "crash" for the night, then this would do; however, if you're into modern appliances, top notch rooms, then look elsewhere. It's right off the 101 FWY, so that was good. Also, there is a CVS and an Albertsons within short driving distance, so that was good too. Close to gas stations too and they seem to have the better gas prices. Hotel has a sports bar with pool tables, and it's open until 2 a.m. We didnt visit but thought it will be good to mention.

If you look online, this hotel looks nice...don't be fooled. It was not up to the standards of a decent hotel. I was very disappointed in the lack of conveniences in the room. First, the staff was very short with me. They could tell that I was not pleased with what I saw when I arrived (the hotel looked NOTHING like the pictures on the internet), and yet, they did nothing to easy my worry about the rooms. No offer of refund if I was not happy was ever made. The room was old-looking, out of date, and in general poor condition. I will say that the cleaning staff was very good. I was surprised at the cleanliness of the room. There was WiFi, but download speeds were very, very slow. There was no iron in the room and when I asked for one at the front desk, she asked if I wanted an ironing board (that I was expected to carry back to my own room). Breakfast would have been nice had they been prepared for the amount of people in the room at one time. The waffle mix was old and not mixed properly and so, we had to wait in order to have our breakfast. The toilet seat was broken in my room, the air conditioner did not work (which wasn't a big deal in the Spring, but had it been June or July, we would have been roasting!) Bottom line, don't waste your money. No matter what you pay...you'll be disappointed.

Great location, great price. Room is spacious, but really needs some updating.
