Great Service at a Great Hotel!
It's true that the rooms at the Thompson are small, but the location, staff, and value make up for the size of the room. The rooftop bar has amazing views--the best in Beverly Hills! And, the location is just perfect. You can walk around Bev Hills, or drive to any of the main hotspots within minutes. And if you want to go out drinking at night and leave the car behind, the cab ride to WeHo is under $10! By the end of the stay, most staff knew my name, and were always friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Nightlife is a short cab ride away. Leave the car in valet and take a cab to avoid parking fees and/or being towed.

Very Enjoyable Stay
Front desk staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. During your stay they put a $100/day hold on your account for incidentals (I stayed 3 days and therefore $300 hold). Seeing as I used my debit card, they were very helpful the day I checked out in expediting the process with my bank to get the funds released. New restaurant 'Caulfield's' was spectacular. Great service and great food. ABH was a little subdued when I went, but it was also a Saturday night in December and it was a little cold out. I will stay here again on my next trip to LA.

great location
i suppose the best thing about this hotel would have to be the location.shopping(expensive) and dining all within walking distance.santa monica/venice beach a short drive or bus ride away so to was hollywood(drive).i stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed my stay but to be honest only used the hotel to sleep in as i was out all the time(so much to do and see in LA)service was about normal nothing out of the ordinary.car parking was $30 a night but didn't mind this as having a car in LA is vital for getting around, well for a tourist like me anyway.the place was spootless.one of the lifts was out of order for the week so it took ages to get to your room(i wouldn't mind a couple of days but a week)but i got over that.the only thing not great about the room was the lighting i found it hard enough to read at night and also no coffee making facilites.would i return again?yes if somebody else was paying.a bit ott in prices.i did score a free toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste when my bag was late arriving from the airport.

Great location
The staff were very gracious and helpful at all times. Only complaint is that the interior decor is too dark.

great location
The room was beautiful, very comfortable, very upscale, but nothing beats the pool area (and the wonderful view). The location is great and the restaurant is excellent. Staff not very friendly (with a couple of exceptions).

chic beverly hills hotel
Great experience. The rooftop pool was fabulous but not enough chairs. Get there early before the pool boy starts reserving chairs and cabana people start demanding chairs. Beautiful people, great staff, very LA.
