Good, but pricey
We booked a junior suite through Orbitz. A friend recommended we make sure we stay in the newer portion of the hotel (she said it was nicer and had a balcony), and we inquired when we arrived. We were informed that our reserved junior suite was located in the old tower, and to switch to a junior suite in the new tower would be an additional $75/night. We checked out the room, and while it was really nice (beautiful bathroom with deep tub & tv, large spacious room, large balcony), it had a poor layout, and looked out onto the hotel rooftop. We opted for a standard room in the new tower, which cost an additional $35 a night over our reservation price. The room was nice, if a little small, with a modern bathroom (no bathtub, unfortunately), a decent size balcony with views of the hills, and a very comfortable bed. The room was tastefully furnished, clean and modern. The most frustrating aspect of staying at the Beverly Hilton was the fees and expenses. Parking was $34/night for valet service (which was prompt and offered good service), $10/day for internet access (not particularly fast), and the items in the room's stocked fridge were ridiculously expensive. $6.50 for a 12 oz bottle of water! Worse, the fridge is pressure sensitive, so it charges you for anything you move--which makes the in room fridge worthless for keeping your own items cool. The hotel was willing to pull the items out and make some room upon request, but required a $20 "restocking" fee. This is not an inexpensive place to stay. Room service was ridiculously expensive ($20 for a continental breakfast), and poolside cocktails were $14. That said, the service at the hotel was very good, the location is excellent, and the hotel is pretty swank. The extra fee for staying in the newer part of the hotel was a little frustrating. We pointed out that we had already paid for a junior suite, so moving to a standard room in the new tower shouldn't incur additional expenses. We were told the hotel's policy was to charge for upgrades to the newer tower for customers who book through travel sites. He seemed to suggest that regardless of the type of room booked online, the hotel would charge the same upgrade fee: $35 to a standard room/$75 to a junior suite. I was left with the impression that had we booked a standard room (instead of the junior suite), we still would have paid the same upgrade fee. Although the hotel insisted on applying the upgrade charge, they did waive our entire parking fees, which was essentially the same amount. In sum, we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and historic hotel. It isn't cheap, but offers a high level of service, beautiful rooms, and an overall good experience. Pros: Good service, historic hotel, beautiful lobby, good location, really awesome pool. Cons: Lots of additional fees, expenses and surcharges.

There hotel is divided between the old tower and the new tower--the new tower is nicer and more modern. Rooms booked through travel sites are for the older portion of the hotel. If you want to upgrade to a room in the newer tower at check-in, the hotel charges the same upgrade fee no matter what kind of room you have booked in the old tower.

Hits and misses
Hotel is in an excellent location both for walking to Rodeo Dr. and for accessing Hollywood and other tourist spots. Rooms are about average size but clean. The maid service was good but not great as they left some trash and forgot to leave the same amount of towels for the room. I'm upset that we booked the room 9 months prior to use and our room was the farthest from the elevator. Parking fees were outrageous costing $28.00 per day. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Beverly Hilton
I've stayed at the Beverly Hilton before for business and was quite impressed with it several years ago, so when I saw such a great price (about $200 per night, all in) for a quick weekend trip to LA I jumped on it. Overall, it's held up quite well. Service is wonderful, which I expect from this caliber hotel in Beverly Hills. My husband and I were 20 minutes late for breakfast service and the hostess was nice enough to let us order breakfast anyway, even though the restaurant at Trader Vic's was closed. Rooms are a little on the small side, but very well appointed (outside of our slightly awkward bathroom) and comfortable, including the nice, big, comfy, soft bed and flat screen TV. The pool area is slightly small, but I like that sort of thing, and has lots of chairs in both sunny and shady areas with very attentive poolside service. I especially like how the pool is enclosed, so you don't see or hear road traffic and it makes it sort of oasis-like. Oh, and the gym is awesome. Nice new equipment, all cardio machines have their own TV, with a well-stocked weights area. It's in a great location, almost within (I say that because no one walks anywhere in LA, even though I'd totally do it) walking distance to Rodeo Drive. All in all, if you have a chance to stay here, do it. Well worth it.

First class place - middle of everything
The location was spectacular, and for the price, unbeatable... [...] Walking distance to Rodeo Drive, and right in the middle for traveling to business meetings in the area. The lounge and bar area when you first walk in is very nice for casual business meetings. Rooms are set up with all the conveniences needed and comfortable king size beds. Free wifi at the pool!

Enjoyed the experience
My husband and I were visiting our son, a grad student at UCLA.We thoroughly enjoyed the Beverly Hilton thanks to a great package - flight from DC and hotel - [...]. they offered a $40 per night upgrade to a "better room" which we accepted and did not regret. Had a 6th floor room overlooking Beverly Hills, plasma TV (great for watching the World Cup !), beautiful tiled bathroom with separate toilet area, l'Occitane toiletries replenished every day, quiet room, super comfortable King size bed, the works...Only thing i would say about the room: free wireless internet would be appreciated (had to pay $11.95 per day) and a coffee station in the room would be great (since we did not want to pay $23 for continental breakfast at the hotel we found a Starbucks within a 3 min walk.Be forewarned that if you have a rental car you will have to pay $29 for parking at the hotel which is common in LA but still outrageous.Other than that the pool area is beautiful and relaxing, the service excellent. Would go there again definitely !

Fabulous R&R
The purpose of my trip was to visit with family and relax for a few days. It was perfect for this purpose since the pool lounge chaises were so comfortable and the poolside service was prompt and friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. I found everyone I dealt with to be very service-oriented with a friendly and pleasant attitude. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality accommodation.
