Very poor service, room very boring

I disliked this hotel. I thought the staff were overly helpful and friendly, so much so that it seemed they were putting it on. When we arrived at the hotel, the lady at the front desk checked us in, and took us all the way to our room, and then proceeded to go into our room and to take us on a tour of it. This was completely unnecessary as the room consisted of just the bedroom and the bathroom. I think we could have figured out how to turn on the lights ourselves. We really just wanted to be left alone after our long flight. When we visited the concierge, it seemed she did not know Los Angeles as well as we thought she should have. She did not have maps of the bus routes, but instead googled each destination for us. She told us about the house car and said that it could do drop offs and pick ups, as long as we gave them a call when we are ready. She did not explain that there is only one house car to accommodate all the hotel guests and so if we were calling to get picked up and there were other guests wanting to use the car, that we would need to wait over an hour to be picked up. Furthermore, we were told that the house car has a radius of 5 kilometres that it is allowed to go. Hollywood is outside of this 5km radium. One day, the concierge organised for us to be picked up from Chateau Marmont hotel, then the next day, we were told by the driver that this would not be possible as it is outside the 5 kilometre range. We were also told that the house car would be available from 10AM to 10PM each day, but when we called reception to book in for a 10AM drop off, we were asked if we could make it 10.10AM, just to give the driver time to get ready. We were ok with that as we did not need to be in Hollywood until 10.45AM. However, when we went downstairs to wait for the car, it did not come until 10.20AM!!! We thought that it was ridiculous that they said that the house car start time was 10AM, but in actual fact it was 10.20AM. In addition to this, when we checked out, we were asked to pay nearly $25 for items from the mini bar. The only item that we had taken from there was a $6.50 500mL bottle of water, as we were not provided with any complimentary bottles of water. When we had removed this bottle, it was replaced the next day, as well as another bottle of water and a can of Red Bull that was not even there when we first checked in. So, they had not even replaced the mini bar properly before we checked in, but were then going to charge us for it when we checked out. How sneaky of them!! Moreover, we were not provided with complimentary bottles of water until the last night that we were there. This did not help when we were charged $6.50 for a 500mL bottle of water the day before.

Great hotel!

Fantastic hospitality

It was about a three block walk to great shopping as well as numerous restaurants ranging from coffee shops to very fine dining.

A Stay Fit for Royalty

My husband and I spent a long-overdue vacation at L'Ermitage. I would return in a heartbeat. The room was very spacious and impeccably clean. The staff were magnificent, always concerned for our comfort. The rooftop pool was lovely, and the food in the restaurant delicious. Access to downtown was fairly easy, also.

Highly Recommended!

The service was outstanding, rooms are amazing and huge! Fantastic attention to the smallest detail. I would favorably compare to my stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Perhaps not quite as 'happening', but also a bit less 'stuffy'. If you are not worried about rubbing shoulders with the stars, but still want to feel like one, stay here!

Excellent accompdations one serious flaw

We were unable to complete our planned stay due to an extremely uncomfortable and low to the floor bed. It was literally an extremely painful night as I have a bad hip condition. I was surprised to find this in a hotel of this quality.
