Great hotel in Beverly Hills

I had a lovely time here. Thought the hotel was a little on the tired looking side but for the rate I got I couldn't complain ?Perfect location nr Rodeo derive and good shops. The food was fabulous and because it's a small hotel the room service was delivered hot Loved the pool and the old time cabanas where I imagined Marilyn was having secret trysts. Really helpful staff. Can't wait to return

I loved it!

I was in LA for work (and a bit of fun too) and this hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff could not have been any more helpful! My car was waiting for me downstairs by the valets by the time I exited the elevator. The restaurant is really beautiful with indoor seating as well as poolside (and fireside) tables. I had a last minute meeting cancellation so ended up having dinner by myself poolside at a lovely, secluded table where I enjoyed a 50% off "happy hour" dinner for under $30 including wine. The room was perfectly clean and quiet with only 5-6 rooms per floor and well insulated for complete peace. The Dennis George products in the bathroom were just the icing on the top of a perfect stay! I will definitely be back!

Good deal in Beverly Hills

Nice stay here - but bar/pool noise can go late into the night. Rooms across the street are better for quiet. Food a bit $$$.

LA Shop till you Drop

My wife and I travel from Australia twice a year to visit LA. Avalon hotel was perfect for our stay. Clean, tidy, a great location and the staff were excellent. Very very friendly. Alessandro at the front desk was a stand-out. We even got to check into our room early. No complaints here whatsoever. The parking is not an issue and if you want to stay in Beverly Hills - just expect to pay for Valet parking. That is life. Avalon well done. I am fussy when it comes to hotels and you met all my expectations.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Can't go past the Grill's on Beverly Drive - Chris Ruth Grill. Steak was excellent. You also need to try the French bakery further up the road - next door to Starbucks. Bakery items are sensational. The Grove - 5 min drive is the place for lunch- Farmers market- try the Mexican...Plenty of options avail

Long Weekend Getaway

The staff was wonderfully accommodating (we checked in 4 hours early without a problem) and the room was clean and comfortable. While the $30/day parking and $10/day for wifi charges were unexpected, I heard from friends who have stayed in the area, both charges are pretty standard for similar places. The free coffee in the mornings was a lovely start to the day and the pool area was gorgeous -- cool tables and alcoves for relaxing. We didn't eat at the restaurant (so many other good options in the neighborhood!) but heard guests raving the food was delicious, and the restaurant seems to draw quite a crowd in its own right. The location is conveniently located with a handful of shops and restaurants a few blocks north. While in NYC (where we're from) those few short blocks would seem like a totally reasonable walk, in LA it seemed more appropriate to drive the 1/4 mile up the road. I would definitely recommend the Avalon to anyone visiting the area!

Second visit!

I recently started planning a trip to LA every Feb for my nephew's birthday, and this was my second stay at the Avalon. I absolutely love this hotel, mainly because of the friendly, courteous and professional staff! It is an easy drive to my brother's house, and also nestled close to good shopping! The bed is so very comfortable, and other than being able to hear some noises at night or early morning (think it is just due to the building structure), I don't have any complaints about this fabulous hotel!
