Super 8 Berkeley

checked in near midnight, the office manager was asleep but came to the door after I rang the office phone. The room was good, the place looks like it has been renovated within the last 6 months perhaps, it even had a separate closet for hanging clothes, a safe within and had a table with the usual coffee maker and a microwave! Breakfast consisted of packaged Danish with cereal, milk, coffee or tea and apple with even a TV to watch the morning news. All in all, not bad for the price.

The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. It had wi-fi which was a bonus. It was nothing fancy, but comfortable. The TV was a little hard to figure out, with the box balancing on top of the tv. It was walking distance to a lot of wonderful restaurants & activity!

Staff was not very nice, but the room was pretty sweet for a super 8. Must have been about a dozen awesome Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, and Mexican places within a mile to eat at....I was in heaven!! Great little coffee shop about 1/2 mile toward the bay with super nice and cute barisitas too. Probably wont stay there again but it wasn't bad.

I had a 2-day design class in San Francisco so I needed to stay over on Saturday. I couldn't find a hotel for less than $250! So I decided to stay in Berkeley. What a great choice. Even though this is a "budget" motel, it was sparkling clean, easy to find, free parking, crown molding and granite in the room--and the best bed I've had in a long time! Staff was friendly, but why must I use the night ring at 6:00 p.m.? Next time I make a trip to SF, I'll stay here. Cheaper and only 10-15 minutes away.

The staff were courteous and helpful. They let me park my car there the next day so I could take public transportation (BART) to work for the day. The room was refurbished and decorated in basic good taste. It was pretty quiet even though the hotel is located on a fairly busy street.

I had to check in late as my flight did not come in until after 8pm, so I expected a cranky hotel manager. I couldn't have been more wrong. He explained everything I needed to know about my stay (when the maids did service, what time check out was, how to access the wireless) with patience and care. He also spoke very genially with me about where I was from and the purpose of my visit. The room was also a pleasant surprise. Quiet, private, and very clearly updated, the room was surprising for the price and location! The bed was very comfortable, the tv had a wide variety of channels (including 2 HBO channels!), and the free wireless was a pleasure. Although right downtown and very close to all the wonderful food, art and theatre, my room was peaceful and I barely heard any street sounds. As far as most trips go, this was the perfect hotel, perfect town, and perfect trip!

Very nice and clean rooms. The only issue they didn't have a crib for a baby but other than that, no problems. Will recommend to my friends.

This Super 8 is very close to UC Berkeley and great accommodations for the price. The rooms are all remodeled and the bed was VERY comfortable. Despite being on a major road in Berkeley, once inside the room it is very quiet. The breakfast was a nice touch with bagels, coffee, juice, and pastries. We stayed at the nearby Super 8 in El Cerrito and the one in Berkeley is way better. This was our second time at this hotel and we would recommend it!
