Convenient Location
The reason we stayed here was to attend events in San Francisco and Oakland in the same weekend. This was a great location close to North Berkelely BART station and with easy freeway access. The staff were accommodating in letting us leave both of our cars at the hotel prior to checking in so that we could head into San Francisco for the day.

Unfinished remodel
Awful. The room was right on first floor exposed to the lobby and next to a gym. I asked for another room, but none available, completely booked. It was late when I got there and I was tired. I forgot to sign on the line the hotel clerk indicated and when I turned back and said, oh I forgot to sign...I found that the clerk had forged my initials! I get to the room and turn on the lamp and it is literally a strobe light. To top it off the shower was wheelchair accessible and had a handheld shower head. There was no bracket on the wall, so it was perched on top of the shower rod. At first I think, oh well I'll hold it in my hand. But wait, there is no soap dish, or anywhere to set shampoo. I don't have enough hands to hold all this stuff and take a shower!!! Ridiculous!!! Finish the remodel before you rent the room!!! Complaining got me nowhere...I needed a room and it was 11 pm.

bed bugs!
Met up with some friends here on a trip to UC Berkeley. My friend's room had bed bugs. No refrigerator or microwave. The hallway and rooms are kept warm (until you get in your room and turn on the a/c). Next time I'll go to some place closer to campus, and cleaner.

Might collapse in an earthquake
Signs on the hotel entrance doors state that the hotel is on "soft" land, so the structure might collapse in an earthquake.

Disappointed
Not up to La Quinta Quality!!
We were visting some colleges in the area and stayed for one night (thankfully). There was a nice breeze from the Bay which we could not enjoy since our room window opened but there was no screen. Then I used the restroom and the door would not open. Fortunately I was with my family who called maintenance. Who knows what would have happened if I was alone. And no apology at all from the staff! The carpeting was old and I couldn't wait to leave.

Spartan fan
long weekend in Berkeley
Hotel was very clean and well attended to. Morning breakfast was hot and very complete. The hallways were noisy late evenings and early morning. Sounds seem to vibrate through the rooms. Drain were slow but room was clean. Good hotel for the price. I would return and use again.

Unbeatable location for the price
This was a very nice, clean hotel that is located less than a mile from the highway. It provides a good daily breakfast and freindly staff. I would stay there again in the future if I need to come back to the area. The price is great compared to other hotels that I checked out.
