Week end stay

The room was beautiful, well appointed, energy efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. I rated three stars because air conditioning wasn't working properly even after maintenance got it a little cooler. Plus the location of the room was awful, direct view of the roof and air conditioner unit which was close to the window. Hotel staff did not follow through in giving me another room. All that said I would stay here again because I like the Berkley vibe and it close enough to go into the City to do things.

I got such a great price on this hotel I was a bit scared the quality wouldn't be as expected. I was expecting the usual bait and switch. But no, the photo on the website 100% was accurate as far as my room and the hotel. It was clean, smelled good, and I had no problems. I stayed for 3 days and could not tell you a single downside other than I wish I could have stayed longer.

The room and location are great, but no amenity at all.

The room is clean and the carpet is nice, but there is no coffee, no refrigerator, no microwave oven, not even a bottle of water in the room for you to drink. The breakfast in the hotel lobby consists of only a few choices of danish that you have to pay by the pieces. No parking is provided. The day time street parking is nearly impossible, and garage parking is expensive.

Very Nice Central location

The staff and restaurants were great. I can say a lot of good things abou the place, but here are a few negatives. Parking is expensive, as they don't offer their own parking. A little noisy if you're at the Allston/ Shattuck corner of the hotel.

Great, funky, hotel!

We were in town for wedding and picked this hotel based on Yelp reviews from which we were able to link directly to book. Hotel was fun, we loved the decorating scheme and the location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful and our room was very clean. Only complaint is that room was a bit small for the price and it had no tub - which would have been fine if it had a decent sized shower...which it did not. Size of shower fine for an average sized man, but for a larger man, or for any woman that wants a hope of shaving her legs in the shower - not ok. In general, however, a good experience and I would definitely stay there again, but would request a larger room with larger shower.

Business Trip

Pluses: The hotel is newly renovated. The room are clean and comfortable. The Internet is free. The in-house restaurant is OK. Minuses: There was no iron or iron-board in the room. The receptionist/front desk is not friendly. (When I asked a location of a restaurant she pointed at someone else to ask, who was busy with several other customers.)
