Travelodge Bakersfield

Staff was very very rude and unhelpful - almost angry. Back parking lot is dark and secluded - very unsafe feeling. Front lot parking spots are tiny, and my Jetta got a door ding. Walls are so thin you can hear and understand your neighbors conversations. The freeway noise is overwhelming. I packed up and left my room at 1am because i was woken by fighting neighbors and the front desk accused me of lying about it just to get a refund - like I really wanted to get dressed, pack, an leave I'm the middle of the night. I have never had a worse experience in all my travels. I wish I could complain to travelodge about the bad name these people are giving them - but the rude people behind the desk? Yeah, they own the place. Stay anywhere else. There are a dozen hotels close by - and everyone of them is safer and cleaner and friendlier.

for the price and free breakfast good i really liked the coffee.it was clean and comfortable the location was a plus

Was in town for one night and back on the road first thing in the morning. Room was clean and neat. I had a problem with the bathroom light not working. Staff was sent to repair it and when I returned it still did not work. The desk manager came to check it, changed the bulb, and it still didn't work. Within minutes he had me in another room with working lights. It couldn't have been expedited quicker. The breakfast was very limited, and no fruit was available. But everything was adequate for me. I was looking for a cheaper price, and a room that was clean and not noisy where I could sleep. This worked!

The location is great for what we needed and for the rate we paid we received everything we should have. I asked for extra pillows and towels, it took them 40 minutes to bring them to our room. I requested an upper level and did not get one which bothered me. I received the service and accommodations expected for the rate I paid. $39.00 per night.

Nice looking Avg Hotel. I was not expecting a lot. But it was nice looking and the rooms clean, etc. My big issue was they stuck us next to the House- keeping work area. Washers, Ice Machine. There was my wife and I. They gave us 2 count it 2 towels. One each to shower......... trust me it does not work. When my wife asked the maid for another towel, very rude and not helpful at all. Ok, aside from that and the maids hanging around my room at 8:am talking, doing the wash and slamming doors... it was fine.... lol

Average hotel. Stayed with family on Christmas on the way to vegas. Cannot beat the price with the cost with breakfast and free internet. Did not encounter any such bad people around as told by other reviewers . Blankets can be better, but not bad for the cost for the night stay. Obliviously we cannot get 5 star comfort and feel in 2 star price.

Trash in drawers, broken lamp, no iron, no clock, only one dirty washcloth and bathmatt in tub all dirty, no ice bucket, no do not disturb sign, nothing to set suitcases on. Took list to front desk next morning, and upon return in the evening we did get some towels and an ice bucket and trash removed, but nothing else, for as long as the 4 day stay. They are renovating, so at least it smelt clean in the room. Contintental breakfast wasn't ready at 6:00, or even 6:30.

The room was extremely cheap, in cost and feel. Staff was lazy, didn't notice, or maybe didn't care, that was was even in the lobby to check in or out until I spoke up. Acted like it was a hassle to get a reciept. The hotel was "under renovation" and was bare concrete throughout the hallways, doors into hallways were also wide open all night, no locks. Location was also very noisy, as it is right next to the freeway. In summary, stay here to save a few bucks, but be prepared to put up with some [rap

Though, the room needed refurbishing, the room was pretty clean, and fresh smelling (except for the carpet), it was very dirty and our feet got very dirty walking on it. The bathroom area, the vanity area, and the furniture were very clean, and they kept us updated with towels, cups, shampoo, and all the amenitites. Sorry, we didn't bring a bathing suit to go swimming, because the pool looked so clean and inviting. The people were very nice, too. We enjoyed our stay there, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive place to stay. They were refurbishing the back section of the Hotel during our stay there, so I'm sure they will be refurbishing this section soon, also.
