Friendly Staff. Very Clean. Great Breakfast.

I got a really good rate on this hotel. I thought for what I paid ($50 for a 2 double bed room) we were definitely in for mediocre. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member, the lobby was nice and very clean. Went up to our room, which was also very clean. The room was pretty spacious and also had a microwave and mini fridge, and spacious enough table and sitting area. The bedding was clean and the was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was really good as well. Good variety and nothing tasted old. Overall, we were very pleased. I would definitely stay here again if I'm staying in the area.

more than adequate

Used this as a jumping off point for the Rose Bowl. Half the price of anything near Pasadena and saved a couple hours driving to/from Oregon. (Go Ducks!) Room was a decent size, quite and clean. Wish the beds had been queen size but knew they were only doubles when I booked it. Continental breakfast was typical and sufficient, nothing to write home about. Only negative was the lack of a full curtain on the window so no way to block the morning sun.

Okay for traveling

for the most part uneventual, desk staff was good. We stayed 4 nights. The 3rd day coffee pot not cleaned, no hand towels and bed not made. We didn't need fresh sheets each day, but, we like the sheets pulled tight and the bed made. The hotel was close to the freeway, but, not right on it so that we experienced a good nights sleep With that being said we would stay there again.

spend the night oon the way to Vegas

checked in at 1 AM on a cold November night and the AC was on!. I tried to switch to heat but regardless I chose heat or AC, the air are the same after 5 minutes. The unit appears to be broken or there is no HEATER! End up turning the unit off and sleep with extra clothes. It wasn't a pleasant thing specially when you have 2 young children who often kicked the blankets.

Get what you pay for

When scanning for a hotel to stay stay at in bakersfield, La Quinta grabbed my eye as in my experience they've been a benchmark of quality, and the low price made me curious, and then i thought "it is bakersfield". However, this low figure was fitting of the stay. of course, only after booking did i realize, there is another La Quinta near by with suites. For starters, there was no refrigerator in our room, and after asking, they immediately seemed sure they couldn't find one for us, (thought they did politely thumb the computer a bit anyway seemingly to try). It was absolutely up to the La Quinta standard of cleanliness, but small, and i was surprised to be awoken around 10am to a never ending series of unnerving pipe works sounds, though that may have just been luck of the draw so far as placement. The pool closes ridiculously early (9pm) Most displeasing of all, we have a tendency to oversleep at hotels on check out day (and other days as well), and ive been asked to leave by a few less than pleased maids and managers, but never in any serious degree. At this location, upon hearing that dreaded card knock, I answered the door all weary and squint eyed, apologized for still being there, and said id call the front desk, this young man very nastily told me that if we didnt get out he was going to call the police, which offended me, and I found to be, rather un hospitable, as usually the worst thing that could come of oversleeping in a hotel room is... to be charged another day! so i told him to go ahead, and called the front desk, who seemed just as shocked at the notion when i told them what happened, and assured me that everything would be fine if we left soon, unless of course we wanted to stay another night. Overall, it was worth $70 a night, but for reasons even beyond the absurd rude awakening, i will not be returning.

Good Hotel

Hotel is fine for families. Staff was friendly and helpful. While it is aging, they are making updates and adding flat screen TVs. Breakfast was included and good.
