"dirty with Bed bugs "
I was bitten in the night by something, figured it was a stray fly. Turned out to be a bed full of bed bugs when we ripped the bed apart in the morning. Noisy, police cars in parking lot, lots of yelling and screaming, bad section of town. never again. Not a penny refund was given to me, bad experience.

A night at Knight's
The Knight's Inn in Bakersfield is nothing special, but adequate and probably a good choice for budget travelers. It's a small property on the northbound access road for CA 99. Pros -- good size room, wireless internet, some remodeling (bathrooms). Cons -- a bit of a musty smell in our upstairs room, a previous guest had left some underclothing on the floor of the closet nook. Continental breakfast was coffee, orange juice, prepackaged pastries, two flavors of cereal, milk. No problems with check-in. Property has only about 24 rooms. Competitive gas price just north of the property and very good barbecue in The Grill Hut about half a mile SW of the Knights Inn.

Excellent Value and highly recommended
I was staying two nights in Bakersfield and was looking for a good value hotel just to crash in. I read some of the reviews and the Knights Inn looked nice enough. But when I walked in my room, I almost cheered. It was newly updated and had a fridge, microwave, beautiful doors, lots of plugs, an iron and board, free wireless internet, granite counter and under the counter sink in the bathroom. It felt like a $120 room, and I got it for a third of that price. The only drawback was that the walls seems less soundproof than the average hotel, and I woke several times to hear the ice machine, or the conversation next door. I could hear every word clearly, so this is something they need to address. But for the money, this was a very clean and updated room and I would return to the Inn next time and would recommend it to the picky budget traveler.

Adequate
We stayed at this hotel while visiting my parents. We stayed here to have a bit more peace and quiet, also because my parents had gotten rid of all the extra beds in the house in preparation for a move. The room was a decent size and it was larger than what I expected. As advertised there was a fridge and a microwave in the room which was a great asset. The maid service would come at different times so it was hard to tell when the room would be made up. The air conditioning unit was hard to control, it was either very cold or hot. The front desk staff moved extremely slowly at check in and used an outdated carbon copy method to make sure we were all checked-in the process took a lengthy 30 mins. It was a bad first impression but the stay won us over. There were issues with our keys on two occasions but they fixed that right away. I enjoyed our stay and the simplicity of the hotel--I saw as a boon.

Short drive from hotel
There is a mall nearby. There is a good Chinese Buffet just north of the hotel about 3 mins driving called Panda Palace which is cheap and varied definitely a bargain.

"Nice Place to stay; Wonderful to visit"
The Hotel is deceivingly small with large, beautiful rooms. It was comfortable, inviting and everyone was very helpful with questions about the area. I was only there one night of my vacation; but the room was the best one I'd stayed in the the whole vacation. The drawback was not having much of anywhere to eat, or, delivery/room service available. The street was unknown to the few restaurants that did deliver and the city (unlike the Hotel) closes very early. However,I did find a very nice Mexican eatery within walking distance that did do take-out. The only other problem was that the refrigerator was locked up and not readily available.

The Worst
It was the worst!! When we arrived the key to the room didn't work so they had to use the master key, then when we get in the room it was only one bed when I asked for two double bed's when making my reservation, then they move us to another room but the room wasn't ready so they move us to another room that was so hot it took at least five minutes to get the room cool using the air conditioner. Then in my reservation it stated that there was a hair dryer in the room well there was not.My nightmare was not over yet in the morning my husband went down to get some breakfast ceral the milk was so hot not a good stay.

Great place for the price
We spent 3 days in Bakersfield for a graduation in June and it was super hot. The first night our air conditioner stopped working and it was miserable but the next day we asked if we could be moved and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were recently renovated and were fairly large. I would recommend it and the price was great.
