Potential for Great

Nice feel, person-able staff. Comfy bed and very pleasant Mexican influenced furnishings. Unfortunately, the previous guests' left overs where still in the fridge (not pleasant to smell that!) and nasty stuff came out of the jets of the jacuzzi tub. The evening snacks and wine was great and the morning chocolate chip croissants were great but we were bummed we couldn't use the jacuzzi (10pm and housekeeping had left) and the fridge left overs/smell started us off on the wrong foot.

charming beach getaway

We had such easy access to the beach. The boardwalk has great shops and restaurants and the hotel has unique charm decorated like a Mexican Hacienda-very clean. Balconies make for enjoyable morning and evening coffee. Since there is much activity on the boardwalk evenings are not quiet! However, we loved our stay and would definitely come again!

Well kept secret

It was a very beautiful hotel. Got a little noisy and our room (#104) got hot. Turned the AC on and I think that's when our allergies started. Despite the noise, heat, and allergies, it was a wonderful place to stay and a beautiful little town. Staff were nice and they always had fruit and cookies available to take if you got the munchies.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Beach area is walking distance. There is a sea life center that will be opening in late April 2010. Also saw some outriggers but didn't have time to inquire.

Nice Place!

Very nice hotel 1 block from the beach, off season rate was very good for what they offer. Top notch hotel staff, they pay attention to every detail. Whole bean Starbucks in the room! Never did see any of the home made cookies they make, everytime I checked the hospitality room I could never find any. The pantry is an excellent touch, only thing I can suggest is to expand it a little and add a few more items but it's very nice to offer guests that service.

Fantastic family getaway

I can't think of anything they could've done to make my stay any better than they already had. I have never stayed at such a fabulous hotel before. I will positively reccommend this hotel to everyone I know. I'm probably giving away the best kept secret of Avila Beach, but, I feel everyone needs to know that there is a place where the guests are pampered without having to pay an outrageous price for comfort
