A nice place

The place was excellent for the price and the service great except for breakfast. They need a microwave and a toaster that works. The quantity of food needs to be maintained instead of running out of things too frequently. It is well located for trips up the coast and into Eureka for good restaurants.

Decent place to stay near HSU

Hotel was close to the airport, as well as, close to Humboldt State University. It was a little dated, but overall, it was clean. The continental breakfast was not so great, but that isn't the reason I stayed, so not to important to me.

Not the best

Our room had bed bugs and they changed our room. Extremely noisy hotel. Noise carried from upstairs and from the hallway. We could hear full conversations, as if they were standing at the foot of the bed.

Not Impressed

The staff was nice but the hotel was horrible. The air conditioner in our first room did not work so we moved to another room. Once in that room we discovered the air conditioner did not work in there either. The room was clean but the hotel in general needs some major updating. The walls are thin...you could hear everything people were talking about in the hallways and every door slam shut!! We would not stay there again.

HOOOORRRRIIIIBBBBLLLEEEE

This was no better than a motel 6. [...] Forced to park around back where they have one of their employees that lives in a broken down RV that has an extension cord plugged into the building for electricity and multiple broken down cars. I did not feel safe leaving my car parked in the parking lot.

3 stars.... not likely

I remember staying at this hotel as a kid and thinking how lucky I was to do so. Indoor pool and hot tub, cool location, nice rooms. Then the hotel got bought by a chain and "renovated." Too bad that this lowered the charm of the place. The first issue was the sketchy parking lot with campers and "meth-heads" hanging out in the back. The second issue was a room with shoddy beds and shoddy electrical outlets (of the 6 in the room, 3 did NOT work). Finally we went to the "indoor pool" that was all the rage only to find that the pool was ice cold and the hot tub was barely luke warm (BARELY!)When presented with these issues, the staff seemed unconcerned and unable to correct them. After a night with little sleep, the breakfast turned out to be cereal and milk only YAY :< ! For the experience, you could just as easily stay at motel 6 or super 8 and pay less money for possibly better accommodations. I will never stay here again!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Arcata is near the historic Samoa Cookhouse (15 minute drive). Although the eating style is on bench's with communal platters (1 per your group), the food is delicious and the place has tons of ambiance!

I was very unpleased with my stay at the days inn in Arcata. Walking to our room the halls smelled of pot. Then we went to the jacuzzi and pool, first the pool wasn't heated like it said and second they had naked people, completely naked people in the jacuzzi. This is not a family hotel. The carpets are just as gross as the walls. Sorry but I will not pay or would I stay for free at this hotel. Next time I will pay more for a cleaner and healthier enviroment for my family.
