Although it's known as one of the Anaheim Disneyland hotels, The Red Lion Hotel Anaheim offers the humble atmosphere of a friendly California inn, and business travelers will appreciate the 5,000-square-feet of event space and free Wi-Fi (fees may apply) throughout the property. The sleek, glass-walled hotel greets its guests with comfy low-rise chairs on the terraces and swaying palms out front. Making a play on its name with the Roaring Start breakfast, the Red Lion also makes the most of its location, with outdoor fire pits to keep guests toasty-warm while watching the weekend Disney fireworks. There's a relaxed family feel to Red's Pasta Kitchen, and the outdoor pool offers heated luxury until 9:00pm every night.

Neighborhood

Baseball enthusiasts will love the fact that Angel Stadium is less than two miles away from the hotel, while the enormous Honda Center, at the east end of Katella Avenue, plays host to the Anaheim Ducks hockey team and welcomes some of biggest names in show business for arena-sized concerts.
Hints and tips
When booking, bear in mind that rooms facing the pool have the best views of the nightly fireworks at Disneyland.

Fun family getaway!

This hotel is perfect for Disneyland! It has a shuttle that picks up right out front if your little ones don't want to walk or it only takes 10 minutes to walk! It is also close to many very good places to eat. Thanks Red Lion!

disneyland trip

a manageable walk for my 8 year old and I to the gates of Disney each day. There is an IHOP right next door for an easy early breakfast and a CVS across the street for necessary items. I paid extra for the fireworks view room and it did not disappoint as there were a couple of nights we were disney-ed out by the evening show and enjoyed it from our room. There was a small fridge in room. There is construction on the lot next door and although it did not bother us on the noise level, that may change as the building goes up in the future.

Great family trip

We really liked this hotel because of the location. It was about a 10 to 15 min walk. The family friendliness made it a great trip for us. I did not rate it a 5 because it was not perfect, but really good. Will bring my family here again!

Friendly Staff (for the most part) but rest of it needs a little improvement

The location and the courtesy of the front desk, concierge and gift shop staff is by far the biggest selling point. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, though overall hotel could use a bit of paint in places and repair. It's showing its age in some places. The cashier for the snack bar and buffet is difficult to understand and rude at times. She along with the breakfast buffet were the low points. The coffee was not great by any stretch of the word. The food was "ok" but definitely NOT worth the price we paid per person (even for kids...only kids 6 and under eat free). If you're looking to save money by eating at IHOP next door, think again. Prices are extraordinary and definitely not worth it. We found, overall, eating inside Disneyland to be the best value dollar for dollar. Our stay was decent, and again the desk and gift shop staff were excellent, but I'd probably stay somewhere else next time.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Best to order in from outside the resort area. For snacks, try the CVS across the street. Snacks and meals are overpriced within the hotel.
