Ramada Plaza Hotel Anaheim

As an annual passholder for Disneyland, I have stayed at this hotel at least 5 times in the past. I decided to stay here again, having pleasant visits with them in the past. Our first night we did not have hot water and we practically had to beg to have our room changed to a room with hot water. The staff basically acted like we should just deal with no hot water. It turned out that they were aware when we checked in that we would not have hot water and opted not to tell us or put us in a different room. I guess they were hoping we wouldn't notice!! The next morning we had hot water in our different room...thank goodness. The morning after though we did not have hot water. When we called the front desk they said there was no hot water in the hotel and a room change was not an option. I consider myself to be a pretty easy traveler and not very picky but this was ridiculous. Not only was not having hot water horrible but the unapologetic attitude of the staff was even worse. Travelling with small children, we thought this hotel would be a great place to return as we have stayed there so many times in the past...wrong! I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

We got to the hotel an hour before check in. The front desk was helping a customer who was also there early and they were extremely nice to him and let him check in ahead of time so we thought we could too. Not so. As soon as we walked to the counter I did admit we were early (as to not have heard their conversation) but let him know we just drove 6 hours and were wondering if we could check in early. He immediately said that they don't do that and we would have to wait. I then said "but that man just got his room". Then he said "you booked your room on Orbitz and we can't negotiate anything with a 'locked' reservation". I guess I look dumb! I didn't argue any further...just said ok. When we did finally get to our room, it smelled sooo bad of mold, I was about to call the front desk when my husband stopped me. Needless to say...I will never return to this hotel again!

Interaction with staff was helpful

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly front desk staff. We received our key to our hotel room and quickly went to drop off our belongings. Once we entered the room, we noticed it was small and very warm, but appeared to be clean. We turned on the AC unit and quickly noticed it had a VERY loud sound. My husband and I looked at eachother, but shrugged it off to finish putting away our items and head to the park. Then, I went to the bathroom to place my toiletries on the counter. There was no counter! I quickly told my husband to come and look at the bathroom. It looked like a hospital bathroom with bars on the walls and no toilet seat, and again, no counters! I figured that maybe all of the bathrooms looked this way, so I decided to let it go. As friends showed up to the same hotel, they stated that their bathroom looked normal, with no bars, and had counters. We quickly realized that we were placed in a handicap accessible room. Neither my husband nor I need or requested a room for handicap accessibility. Unfortunately, there were no other available king sized bedrooms to move too as they were all booked. Hence, the reason we were stuck in this room. After a quick trip to Disney, we decided to call it a night and head straight to bed. I SLEPT HORRIBLE!!! The AC unit was so loud that I literally had to sleep with a pillow over my head for the whole evening. When I woke up, I was obviously in a horrible mood from the lack of sleep. I went to take a shower to get ready for a full day at the park. The shower head kept falling down, so I had to crouch to take my shower. Also, I had to pick up all of my toiletries, one by one, off of the floor to get ready. This was absolutely ridiculous. We stayed two nights, and upon check out the front desk asked about our stay. I told the front desk lady that it was "interesting". She asked as in "bad or good" and I began to explain about the AC unit. She said, "Oh, I'm sorry", and that was that. I could tell that she obviously didn't care about what I had to say, so I didn't go any further. While this was a clean hotel room, I will not be returning to this location on my next Disney trip. Also, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they bring earplugs and their own counter space (just in case you end up in the wrong room!).

Beds and sheets were not comfortable at all. Sheets were clean but scratchy, poor quality. After a long day at the park expecting some quiet at 11pm I had to call the front desk once and go down to the front desk once since whoever was above me would not quiet down. Sounded like someone was practicing gymnastics until 1:30 AM. Front desk was not helpful at all.

The maid was nocking at the door before 9 am, although we had a do not disturb sign. We went to breakfast at 9:30 am, the selection that was left was cold and tastless, and to add to the experience we had people cleanning around us and wanting to take our plates even do we still had food in them. To top it all, before walking out, we were refreshing our coffee and one of the employees squirted some cleaning liquid in our cup as he wascleanning the area were the coffe machine was. Although we had a coupon for breakfast for the second day, we did not eat there. I will not be back or recommend the place to anyone.

In a nutshell: Fire Doors were blocked open in numerous locations. Phone in my room didn't work. Internet was slower than dialup because they share the wireless with another hotel. "Free" Breakfast was barely edible. Walls are thin so you can hear other guest very easily.

Stayed for one night for a convention down the street. Perfect walking distance for the price.
