A good choice

Would recommend Thu, Sep 17, 2015
Check-in was easy. We had to store our bags with the bell service until our room was ready as we arrived mid-morning. Even though the hotel is directly across the street from Disney's California Adventure park it is not near the entrance to either park. A considerable trek must be undertaken to get to the parks. Not an unpleasant walk but do be prepared for it! The rooms are great. Comfort and space is good. The air conditioning leaves a bit to be desired and the water pressure can be almost non-existent at times. The staff were all very courteous and helpful in all of our interactions with them. There are only three full-size elevators, along with one small one that can only be called from the first floor. This leads to considerable wait times early morning and late evening. The lack of stairs near the entrance (due to security reasons) means one is pretty much stuck waiting for a space on one of the elevators. A trick we learned is that if you are not on the ground floor and are trying to go down it is sometimes easier, and quicker, to go up to get down. Know before you go: Everything is expensive in, and around, the resort and parks. We know and budget accordingly. It is not uncommon to spend $50-$100 per person on food each day. There are great dining choices in Downtown Disney. We found it worth the walk to get better food, generally at better prices too. My preference is WDW, but Disneyland is a much better experience for me staying in a Disney hotel. Proximity and comfort make it a more relaxing stay for me.

Great time!

Staying at any Disney property (FL or CA) is always nicer. This was our first time to this hotel. The elevator waits are long at times and the hotel is showing wear here and there but we love being immersed in Disney. The rooms are comfy and spacious with 2 queens and a sofa bed in most. The theming is fun and beachy. The carpet is like sand. They leave a note to not take the beach ball pillow unless you want a $65 charge lol. This property is least expensive of the 3 onsite. But a very good value. We loved how close the hotel is to the parks--just a short walk--no trams, cars or buses needed. Super cool to be able to use the entrance to California Adventure for Disney property guests only which had no lines. And guests can use the extra magic hours. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Room was clean with lots of Disney décor. There is a gift shop of course and character dining on property. We didn't use the pool but it was right outside our window. It had a huge yellow water slide. We would definitely return!

We love to stay at the Disney properties for the Early Morning perks. Very much enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel. We love that there are pak'n'plays in every room, and they will check you in very early so you can take advantage of the Early morning hour on your check-in day!

First time at Disney Paradise Pier Hotel.

Would recommend Sat, Aug 22, 2015
The hotel was convienently located next to the parks and Downtown Disney. The staff was helpful and very friendly. All of the amenities were top notch. My only sugestion to hotel management is to place more than cashier in the gift shop. Having to wait in long lines to make a purchase is less than satisfying.

D23 Expo 2015 Trip

The hotel was a splurge for a sister weekend at the D23 Expo. It was nice to walk to the convention and walk back to the hotel to sleep. Disney always has exceptional service and this weekend was no exception.

We were upgraded to a two room suite which was very nice. We needed a handicap room which was not available when we arrived but for this room all we needed was a shower chair which they were able to provide. We lived our room and if the price is right we would stay here again.

Great stay

Clean, good sized rooms. Staff was very friendly, view was amazing. Close to parks. A little pricey, but it's Disney. Could here some noise from California Adventure and the street below, but didn't have trouble sleeping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Great Disney Trip

Would recommend Sat, Aug 8, 2015
The hotel was very accommodating. Excellent customer service. It was close enough to walk to Disneyland, although you do have to walk across a busy street to get to the Grand Californian park entrance. My 6 year old loved the hotel and meeting all the characters for breakfast. The restaurant is overpriced and the food isn't that great but you really are just paying for the character experience (food is basically average like all the Disney restaurants) so as long as you understand that you wont be disappointed. The best part of the hotel besides the Disneyland extras (early entrance!! YAY!) was the waterslide. We had so much fun going down the waterslide and swimming in the pool. We will stay there again. Definitely.
