Walk through the Grand Californian's colorful stained-glass doors and be transported to a stunning, turn-of-the-century lodge.

Inspired by the likes of Yosemite's Ahwahnee Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa on Disneyland Resort Property Anaheim offers a welcoming atmosphere complete with a six-story lobby, comfortable leather chairs, live piano music, an immense rock fireplace and storytelling by the hearth.

Here, you have access to an exclusive entrance to Disney's California Adventure theme park, morning power walks around the park before opening and early entry to Disney theme parks.

You can also choose rooms that overlook the lively Downtown Disney entertainment district, Paradise Pier or iconic Grizzly Peak.

Location
The Grand Californian looks out on Disneyland and is right next to Disney California Adventure. Disneyland, which opened in 1955, is packed with both cutting-edge and traditional rides and shows, and Disney California Adventure recreates scenes of California's yesteryears. For instance, a section of the park purposely resembles 1920s Los Angeles. Between these two parks is Downtown Disney, a lavish shopping and dining district with a huge range of activities on offer.
Highlights

Foodies and families alike appreciate the hotel's inventive Napa Rose restaurant, casual dining at Storytellers Cafe, drinks and nibbles at Hearthside Lounge and grab-and-go options at White Water Snacks. Dozens of restaurants are steps away at adjoining Downtown Disney, including the House of Blues and Rainforest Cafe.

The hotel's fully equipped Eureka Fitness Center, morning Fitness Fusion classes and pampering Mandara Spa services keep guest feeling fit while private outdoor movie nights, a children's activity center and three pools keep everyone entertained.

Guests enjoy nightly turn-down services and exclusive privileges throughout the resort, including private time at Build-A-Bear Workshop and the Main Street Magic Shop.

Policies
Guests of the hotel have their own access for entering and exiting Disney California Adventure, making it easy to slip away from the park for a swim or a nap.
During check-in, ask the desk clerk if you can get a complimentary room upgrade - there are occasional openings and it's worth inquiring about.

So Close to the Parks!

The hotel is definitely the nicest on property. It is so close to the parks, and easy to return in the afternoon for the pool, or even if you forgot something! We had one room for the 5 of us. It was doable, but not all of us could unpack from suitcases. The staff was very attentive to us, great housekeeping.

Awesome Splurge

This is an awesome place to stay. My kids love coming to the Grand Californian. Early access to the park is an added perk. The pool is a great spot to come and get some quiet time. They have recently changed the offerings on the breakfast buffet at Storyteller's and we didn't like it quite as well as in the past. I would still recommend staying here for the experience.

Amazing!

My family of five stayed here last year, and it made our vacation to Disneyland the best ever! Our three children enjoyed playing in the pool almost as much as being in the parks. The hotel is clean, comfortable, convenient, and great for both kids and adults. We had a blast!

Location is worth the $$$$

The entrance to downtown Disney is so close. Front desk guy went above and beyond to make our check in fun and informative. They let us check in early-- so helpful. Overall great ambiance. Character dining gave lots of time with Meeko, Chip, Dale, and bears. Paint the Night worth all the money!

Wonderful family trip

This was my 9 month old's first Disneyland experience and I am more than please with our experience at the Grand Californian Hotel. Every single detail was perfection. When you call the operator they greet you by saying welcome home. We couldn't have felt more comfortable and please with the time we spent at the hotel. I don't see how I will ever be able to stay anywhere else.

Adult's Only trip to Disneyland

This was my 3rd stay at the Grand Californian and we really would not stay anywhere else. If you have small children and want easy access from the park to your room you can't get any better. It is definitely over priced, but we are talking Disney here, so that is to be expected.

Another great trip!

The reason you stay here is for the convenience! The rooms are comfortable but average. The pool area is very nice. Grab a fast pass for Grizzly Rapids on the way to the pool. Loved getting soaked on that ride and just heading back to the pool. Ask for a room fairly close to an elevator, the halls can be pretty long. Use the vacation planner (on site hotel perk) they will help with dining reservations, or anything else that you need.

My getaway

Hotel was beautiful and my room was perfect. The price was a little out of my price range, but I ate at some wonderful fast food places that served bienets and dinner in bread bowls. If you love the craftsman style architecture this hotel is a must.
